I'm finding I'm leaning towards treads/phase+drums into mael/deso/AC-type stuff on #1-#2 cores, so I can still have some presence even if my next hero is CM. Euls/orchid/dagon seem pretty good choices for #3-type farm. Blink is always awesome but I'm tending not to buy it until I roll a designated blinker; maybe that's a mistake. Mek/pipe+arcanes I guess guarantees you the mana to use them no matter what your next roll is. Not sure what else. Hex and shivas might be nice if I get there on a non-rightclicker. A lot of the classic carry things like hotd, basher, manta, bfly etc feel like wasted gold if your next hero doesn't suit them. | ||

Blink is universal. Wand is universal. Mek is universal. Dagon is universal. Midas is universal. All these items will serve you well. Pretend you're playing Nature's Prophet*, and you'll be led to more or less the correct item build. *Reason being: NP is really not all that special. His central quality is that he can farm a lot and be places, but his abilities don't have much synergy with any specific item. You don't combo Eul's with Sprout. You don't get Radiance to splitpush faster with Teleport. You kinda build Necro 3 to go with your treants, but let's be honest, Necro 3 is one of those items you get on bland heroes so they can rat. And you most certainly don't get Aghs Refresher for double ult unless you've devolved into messing around. The NP item build is the generic item build, answering the question: what do we lack as a team? | ||
