Definitely need mana boots.

edit: useless reply from not reading the last page Lion would be a lot better if his spells didn't have such shitty range, people just stay out of range then burst him down if you try to get close

i actually go treads when i play semicarry lion, because you'll have a bottle and thats good enough. as a support lion arcane is just generally helpful for the team and you probably wont be the guy thats dropping dagger forcestaff plays on them. plus you can just make up the stats with bracers

If I go support lion on sidelanes then I go arcanes with impale/hex. If I go solo mid I often go Impale/mana drain and go phase boots.

lion's not very popular cus he's really hard to lane, he's a weak laner and a
arcanes are usually the best because it gives mana to your team too but treads are not bad on lion, the as is nice and if you treadswap you can get a bit more out of runes treads/wand/bottle/+3int is enough to cover for all your spells forever anyway even if you get a super early blink
the problem with phase is you don't have enough mana at lv11 to use your whole combo unless you get some other mana item

dagger and arcane don't really go together in my view. One of them implies you'll be getting farm/solo and want to itemize yourself to be more effective and durable in head-to-head confrontations, the other means you're poor 5th position backline support.
treads/dagger/drums vs mana boots/urn is usually how it works out for me.

There are plenty of 3rd position casters that buy Arcanes, even with solo lane farm.
Incidentally, it's actually pretty rare that I buy Arcanes on a 5th position hero. Usually a 3/4 are more suited for it.

MOD EDIT: nope

Treads lion is only in 1vs1 mid scenarios where they are the best option for winning the lane.

I actually like treads on Lina. I just feel that a huge power of treads is the ability to swap them. Changing to int to cast 2 spells then back to str isn't very hard but it does help things out. Idk about lion I never play him. I actually just hate that hero.

Maelk: "Lion is easily a great pickup against the right lineups." Funny that he'd say that today.

Did he say the Lion should go treads or arcanes?
:D

Kinda sad to realize but picking PA in pubs just doesn't work. Unless your team is superior, even equal teams she still can't be useful fast enough.

Her passive just got buffed in 6.74 so it's actually quite viable now. edit: Dendi Lina for reference: Match ID 6675743.

I love you for providing a match ID. This is fucking gold!
I think Lina is viable as a hard support and a big reason why is that she can actually farm very quickly. Money is really hard to come by when playing hard support, having a support hero that can quickly take farm when no one is around, or easily and quickly take jungle farm, is very valuable.

It is very dependent. You need a competent team to have nice initiation and potential stun so you can jump in and dominate them. My last game, I killed 3 of the other team in a few seconds due to my crits. The game lasted far too long though, to the point where I had +1500 crit damage.

You just have to realise when to engage and when to just let your team die. she really can't teamfight before 40minutes is what i went into the game thinking. I lost the lane pretty hard verse a clinkz/bs lane (don't ask bloodseeker was dumb). but i still managed to get a battlefury before 20minutes and just farmed jungle while my team did their own thing.
Is it bad that PA reminds me of maliken? She has a slow and a blink (malikens was 1 spell i know). She should go a realitively fast helm of dom to stack ancients. And she has stupid lategame potential. Actually thinking of it Maliken is kinda ike a DK/Huskar mix.

PA is great, she's like Riki without the invisibility and much higher DPS
First time playing and went 13-2-20 (1-1-7 before BFury)

MKB is a direct counter to her right? I tried MKB against her and it was pretty good.
