I agree, also I feel like the reason for a lot of these "less than ideal" attacks and animations is because of the limitations of the WC3 engine. I just hope Valve is not going out of their way to add in the shortcomings and the flaws of the WC3 engine.

Has icefrog ever mentioned what he'd like to do with Dota now that he's on a better engine?

Nothing was stopping icefrog from putting sniper's animation on CM, or any hero, so it probably won't change in d2.

Theres a reason CM's attack animation sucks. Theres a reason snipers is awesome. Changing that would directly change the game, which isn't what they want to do.

I dunno why someone would go to the trouble of faking those, but it also seems weird any in dev pics would get leaked out of valve..

I agree, but who knows.

If I recall correctly some heroes existed on previous versions, but where removed before the Invitational. I believe Kunkka was one of them, so it's not surprising he is almost done. The other leaked heroes really don't look finished at all, SB doesn't even have a portrait. From the list on those images, I think the only other hero with a good looking portrait is Ursa.

No reason was given, so who knows.

I thought Artstyle retired which would explain why he left.

It never said he retired, the navi manager even wished him gl in future esports endeavors.
My guess is he's taking a break with all the money he just won, reason being is that he tried to quit once before. Maybe buy a car, or vacation with the family, start a business or something.
I'm fairly certain he'll be back for dota 2 in one way or another. Kinda feels similar to what MYM is doing.

If I won that sorta money, I would buy a house outright. No mortgate or rent, only small utilitie bills.. That means easily can live off a pro gaming lifestyle

It's going to be less than 200,000 dollars and taxed. Would you really blow all of that off on a house right away?
I'd probably buy a small car in the 18-27,000 dollar range. Pay off any student loans or whatever you have. Take a nice vacation off for a few days with those close to me. Put the max amount allowed into an IRA each year and invest it lol.
God damn I'm boring. Then I'd go to vegas and put 10,000 on black.

Psshaw at least play blackjack. 10,000 on black is a waste. I kinda feel you on the rest of the plan. Get out of debt, get necessities (new computer, schoolbooks/tuition for next term, rent for a bit, maybe a new car), invest the rest, have fun with at little.
200k is a lot, though not sure how much he'd have gotten out total, 100k is still enough to take some time off and invest enough to be rich later in life.

Na'Vi (as in the organization) didn't take any cut at all, they left all the 200k for each of the players. And I don't think taxes are THAT horrible in Ukraine. EHOME leaked an email they received from Valve, which said that each of the five players got $49 950, only $50 were deducted for transaction fees etc.

Are they also giving keys out randomly to people who have been signed to the BETA list?
