If you really follow all the NA teams you should know that EG actually had better results than Dignitas, and especially against Dignitas, which EG won 11 out of 17 games they played with each other. Just because they didn't make it to TI3 doesn't mean they're worse than the teams that got direct invite to TI. Same goes to VP, they had a good year but failed so hard in TI for some reason. Not to mention KP. The mentality that only use TI to judge the teams really need to change here.

you can't really argue about dignita's deserving an invite considering the maelk vacations EG had before.

I actually agree about the NA's invites. I just don't think it makes sense to judge teams from TI alone when there were other big tournaments in the past year as well.

However I'd love to see something more systematic that just 14 free invites from Valve. May be only invite the top 8, and do some kind of multi-seasons qualifier for the rest like SC2 has or something.

I wonder who DK's fifth man will be. Negotiating for a player but still gunning for one they want even more? I thought they were fighting over Hao at first and preparing to "settle" for Sylar, but Mali says that Sylar's unlikely to happen as of 34 minutes ago (and then reconfirmed that he doesn't think it'll happen just as I posted this), so ...?

Glad to see Dai sticking with DK though.

I would see giving the top 8 invites as good. Problem is that the scene is not stable with roster changes every now and then. Should you invite dk even though they replaced 3-4 players? Should vici be invited because super and rotk joined them?

Until there is a stable scene with many teams around, I don't think rewarding top 8 finishes with invited would be optimal.

I made no comment about Dignitas's performance.

If anything, what I was trying to convey was that: Too bad EG didnt kick all their bad players and add Korok in.

They booted all their bad players and got people better than Korok.

iG got rid of their weakest link sadly to say.
Zhou form has been pretty bad for a while.

People can hate on Chuan but his play is still damn consistent and good.

Play your best

Well that's the point. The direct invite system is flawed in many ways. But because it's been done for 3 years, it became a traditional thing for TI already. Inviting the top 5 or top 8 is acceptable for most people imo. But what about the rest? There should be some kind of point base system, or a qualifier tournament in each season through out the year to gauge how well the teams are doing/being active through out the year. It's better than just sending invites to 14 teams and only have 2 qualifier spots.

What I'm trying to say is things should be more transparent for the sake of the fans and the players themselves.

i like the way valve does it. the goal of the international is to find the best dota team in the world and i'm pretty sure that each tournament winner is unanimously the best team within their respective year.

Iceiceice streaming right now, saying that he might announce something this Friday. For some reason he is telling people to not subscribe prior to this announcement. That makes me think he might be moving to a team that doesn't allow streaming. That sounds like a hardcore Chinese team or something.

He said he had a sponsor meeting today on his stream yesterday as well. Seemed like DK lol Burning + Mushi 2 men who will never retired until they win a TI =). I was actually going to post iceiceice to DK and put a trolling spoiler just a hour ago lol.

Re-service is around a period of 1-2 weeks. From my experience with Singapore army, they sent a letter at least 1 month beforehand as well.

From iceiceice Chat,
4:26 Broadcaster Iceiceice: actually i still can stream (HINTS)
4:26 Broadcaster Iceiceice: if i join a pro team theres just lots of training to be done

If DK were to announce him tonight, he is probably just sorting out his streaming schedule.( best case- scenario) He did said he want to join a team with people he know. DK far seer also mentioned that it a player that want the most... hehe TI3 1v1 champion =)
