7735 DPS 5747 Armor 27k HP <30 Resists
I know, my stats are terrible for Inferno. And in general, really. Where should I be farming? I got partially into Act 1 but it was brutal, and I know I'm going to get wrecked by the first even slightly difficult elite group

Doing that can make you quite a bit of gold, which will let you work toward higher resists (probably your biggest priority atm).

What does that involve? Starting at the first Sin tower and working my way down into Azmodan?

The idea is that you should get 5 stacks right before Cydaea if you're lucky, and definitely when you hit Azmodan, guaranteeing reasonable drops from them.

This is encouraging, seeing as my stats look something like:
7.7k DPS 5k Armor 30k HP 130 all resists
Was going to try and farm more but decided to bite the bullet and try to make as much progress as possible. Currently on the way to the Skeleton King, though I might try and farm the Cemetery some. If anything, I just want to get a few more attempts on rare packs just so I can try and figure out a good skill setup that works for me because I know my gear is where it's supposed to be. Had to skip rares my first run through the cemetery, but that's because I was hitting stuff like Fast Extra Health Frozen Fire Chains.
EDIT: Is there a place to buy Mythic HP Potions I'm unaware of? I keep having to go back to A4 Hell to get them, and it's irritating, to say the least.

I know this is a bit of an unconventional line of thought - but I was recently trying to figure out if there was a way to minimize time spent in actual melee combat as a barb. I had hoped that maybe Weapon Throw (Ricochet) and Weapon Master (using a Mighty Weapon) synergized in the way it does with Whirlwind (i.e. you hit 3 targets -> you get 9 fury) but it doesn't. You only get 3 fury back regardless of number of targets.
This brings me to my question: can anyone think of a slick way to generate more fury than this without venturing into melee combat? The best thing I've been able to come up with so far is Ground Stomp -> Bash with the extra fury rune and run when they come out of stun. But again, the whole point was to see if you could avoid meleeing at all.

I'm pretty sure you can buy them at the Inn in Act 1 Inferno.

I have to say, I feel like the Barbarian actually ended up being the closest to Blizzard's design goal with skills of having skill build diversity. With everything in Inferno being so insane, everyone's trying a lot of different things and find very different builds that work for them (builds are quite different among the Inferno players in this thread, though they do have some common points--and in turn those are very different from the builds used to clear Diablo), particularly as Barb doesn't have something super-OP to fall back on, and so has room to try lots of different things.
Inferno's a bitch, but I feel like Blizzard intended for it to be this hard for everyone to clear, and Barb ended up being the only one to be that way because we didn't have some poorly thought-out mechanic to exploit.

Yeah, I love the fact that it's difficult, but I totally hate the fact that people who chose Wizzard are making millions off their loot. Just go on that thread you'll see discussions about selling stuff @ 3-4 million easily. While we're farming days for 1M.
Guess they didn't actually test the classes on inferno, because they struggled to get D3 out so fast... OH WAIT..

Any general guidelines on what I should be throwing up on the AH and what I should just be salvaging? I'm overflowing on items here, not sure is anything has any actual value.

A safe bet is always just to filter your AH search to similar items, and seeing what people are willing to pay for them (if you're trying to sell pre-60 items, don't forget to put the ilvl in the search as well). It's slow at first, but after a while you get a sense for what's profitable and what isn't.

Well, I've been clearing SK continuously for about 2-3 days now. I'll share my build, hopefully it'll help you guys. I manage to kill rare/blue mobs fairly quickly with some decent kiting near my checkpoint so they won't regenerate as bad if I die.
Passives:
Brawler / Superstition / Nerves of Steel
Skills:
L - Frenzy / Sidearm R - Charge / Dreadnought 1 - Earthquake / (the one from the very right) 2 - Wrath of the Berserker / Insanity 3 - Revenge / Provocation 4 - War Cry / Impunity
Stats:
1.2k~ Str 100~ Dex 100~ Int 1.1k~ Vit
48.5k HP 8.9k DPS (630dps Blue spear with 16% Atk spd incr)
Resistance (w/ Impunity):
Nearly all 300
I still have 4 pieces that needs replacing, chest/bracer/helm/shield. After which I predict I'll have around 400 resistances in all and 450 in the main ones (definitely fire/arcane). It's quite handy to have a couple mates in A2 farm, as they'll be able to help you gear up. For the most part though, I've completely had to rely on SK for farming for gold because the loot I get is never the ones I ever need...
For Barbies that have no dps, invest in a GOOD 1-hander with high DPS as it will pretty much boost your chances in killing rare/blue packs. A shield should have ideally 15-20% block with either life % or all-resistances.
Now, just a question. Other than SK, what are other good places to farm in A1? I was thinking Haedrig's wife, but I heard she was hotfixed due to some guy having 240% MF and farming her because she dropped set pieces.

yep. frustrating is an understatement. well my sorc is lvl 30 already... :>
other then what would you focus on now
my stats: 52k hp ~70% armor (with shout) 300-400 on resistances (with shout) ~11k dps
build: wrenching stomp revenge with the 30% chance rune warcry with 50% resistance buff leap with iron impact or stun frenzy+sidearm seismic slam with +dmg and more knockback
passives: 20% less non phys dmg, 25% armor and 50% less dmg under 20%hp
act1 is outside of really stupid elite groups quite easy. act2 im few quests in . can kill some elite packs , usually die a bit tho. and quite some are plain impossible (vampiric molten firechain wasps...). plus big white mob groups sometimes spike me to death.
should i just farm act 1 ?(since im totally broke right now) any tips about that? you think i can get a bit deeper in act2 ? and i guess prime goal is to stack up resistances more?
p.s. im still running with a 2hander. i plain refuse to use a shield.

I'm so jelly right now of casters. Sorceress are the Protoss of this game amirite? Herpderp spam spells spam 1a. Ironically as a barb, I'm a fucking squishy zealot trying to kite lings that sometimes have elemental properties, immune, and can cast force fields. Fuck my decision to play barb as a first character.

I must be the most retarded person here. Two time in a row I change my skill before SK after obtain 5 and 4 nephalem buff respectively -_-. SK with Nephalem and w.o nephalem is a world difference. Zero buff you get 2-3 blues, with 4-5 nephalem you get like 4 blues+2 yellow.
I think if you get lucky on SK you can still make some money since he drop alot of resist gears but nothing as much as an Wizard. Like 10 good items from SK = 1 good item in ACT 4 -_-.
With Brawler passive + WoTB my DPS going up for 20K lol, never used Brawler till I notice there are tons of minion in SK fight, that 30% dps increase is just too good to pass.

Sell anything.. Forging items is useless. You are banking on a random roll that is often just crap while money get's you items exactly that you need. The need to salvage a ton of items, find recipes and pay as well makes artisans terrible. Maybe the jeweler is somewhat useful for merging your bad gems into better ones (which don't drop I think) but the blacksmith just sucks

I sell every trash blue/yellow that I don't think I can sell on AH. Will net you some good money too.

I also use a very similar build now. Just pain supression instead of earthquake and leap instead of charge. I am in hell end of act 2.
But damn these defensive builds are so boring. I just stand there, hold my left mouse button down and everything dies. If it gets a little tougher I activate pain supression and berserker, and I can still just stand there auto attacking while everything dies.
Seeing how stupidly easy the game now is at inferno with this build, I really cant understand that some people are complaining about barbarian in inferno. I guess every other class has to do more to beat enemies at that level..

Don't compare Hell to Inferno. Most Barb @ Inferno right now was tearing Hell apart, but can't handle the most simple rare pack when they came to Inferno. Most die on white mobs on the first quest if they don't careful.
If you don't like standing there smashing monsters why you roll a Barb? If a Barb don't stand and hit what will he do? Run around throwing axes?

So you're not even in Inferno yet you're claiming Inferno is so dam easy... fucking brilliant.
