1) PURE DAMAGE REDUCTION -String of Ears -Amulets -Shields -Bracers These are big items, you can get vit/resist and % damage from melee. I believe Kripp has 30%+, this is why he can laugh at mobs with less pure armor and HP then me, where I die. 2) Life on Hit Life leech is dead, 80% reduction in inferno. However, a good belt, amulet and weapon can net 1000+ life per hit and with frenzy and sidearm you can get a lot of regen going. This is all fairly obvious information but I don't think some people know the value of the pure % dmg reduction items. String of ears is far and away the best belt in the game for us as a perfect roll is 20%. I think, bare with me. That if you cannot get the level of gear to have huge resist while maintaining a ton of dmg reduction, tank spec is NOT the route to go. http://i.imgur.com/dHJwJ.jpg This player has beat inferno Diablo and can wipe anything in act 2 (including champion packs) going nearly full damage. Now his build isn't even great, he uses 3% life steal passive which is actually .6% and has really no life on hit etc. I mean 40k hp and 5k armor and low resists??? Seems impossible. Yet he claims to just kill fast enough it doesnt matter. I suspect he just tackles big pulls when cooldowns are up and just nearly 1 shots trash mobs. He's basically stacked crit, strength and attack speed. I'm goign to be trying a build like this when I get home from work. I still think Kripps style is better overall and less 'chancey' but until you have 30+ million to spend on stormshield, string of ears, 600+ life on hit 1h, etc., etc., going balls out just may be the only way. | ||

My previous damage/stun build (it had seismic slam with stagger, ground stomp, charge, cleave with rupture, revenge, battle rage and damage passives) was much more fun, and actually required me to do stuff. I had to run in, stun in the right moment, do as much damage a spossible, charge out, stun following enemies with stagger etc). It was actually much more action than wizard / DH for example. The defensive builds are basically only about auto attacking. I thought it was obvious to everyone how much more boring this playstyle is compared to the various damage builds. | ||

the problem is, you rely on GEAR, and its hard atm to get some alone. Also, you need to concentrate on armor and resis, not on life and strengh! | ||

Primary - Frenzy with life return Secondary - Weapon throw with ricochet (One of the more versatile fury spenders IMO, saves you the hassle of having to chase down fleeing enemies and works surprisingly well at point blank range) 1 - ground stomp with suction 2 - leap with armor bonus 3 - cleave with reaping swing 4 - revenge with bonus hp and fury return (will probably change to higher % proc once I unlock) Passives - nerves of steel, weapons master, tough as nails When I fight big bosses I change my skills a bit (a lot) Primary - bash with stun 1 - call of the ancients 2 - wrath of the berserker 3 - ignore pain with duration buff 4 - Armor war cry with bonus armor | ||

I really got problems on belial, it seems i just cant survive him + adds when he lands. Anybody succesfully dealt with it solo, and if yes, what build / items did you use? I got around 61k HP , 8k armor and 200~res with buffs. DPS around 14k. | ||

Most of the 5 mil shields has some funny stats like HP gloves heal increase xD... I think my roll isnt perfect but the MF is pretty good thing yeah? | ||

SS is a defensive shield but that adds some nice damage to your tank build (something barbs lack). Hopefully you can get a lot! May I ask, which act it dropped? Im trying to find out if string of ears and ss only drop in act 4. | ||

The 70 all res element is amazing also. Cons: Armor on the Shield could have 300 more. The block can be higher. From what I am aware of the Str can be higher also. But it is a Storm Shield you can probably get 4.5 million to 5.5 million if you truly want to sell it. | ||
