Yea it has different results depending on what other items youre using.
For me switching Unity to SoJ was a 19k paper dps decrease, real (as in 'per tick' ) damage - I have no idea how much, but I ended up doing more tornado ticks, killing stuff in the same amount of time (still enough ticks to kill most monsters with 1 nado), generating more fury (more ticks + chill effect keeping monsters in place) and extra damage vs elites -> more healing -> I can drop impunity for charge and have the build run even smoother.
For lower attack speeds Id still recomend keeping Unity.

I've been gone for a while and coming back it looks like there has been absolutely no reason for a while now to run with a shield. So much so that I can't even post in my own thread without it being a warning-worthy bump

SnB still lives in PvP, but the shields that are 'acceptable' are extremely limited, to the point where high crit/block stormshields are all that work.

hey guys, can u pls help me build my barb. for WW build. i have 400m gold to spend on it. thanks in advance.

Thanks to a friendly TL member, I'm back in the game playing a Barb.
My question is: what's the most feasible way to get the HotA fury cost down? Feasible (feasable?) as in:
a) not too expensive b) not impossible to find in the AH
Thanks guys!

SoJ is the only practical way of doing it.
Go to AH, search all armor types. Filter to max fury. Filter to bonus vs elites.
Now you see only barbarian SoJ's. Just a case of looking through them for a HotA fury reduction one. Not impossible at all.

What do you guys think of using a sever as an offhand ? I found one with over 1k dps and crit dmg, it gives me 10k dps less than my current offhand but every time i kill something i get my full hp back from its rest in pieces stat, also the 15% dmg to demons seems nice.

Thanks, that's a rather smart way of doing it.
Mine was a little less practical; I only filtered for Maximum Fury, as I didn't know you could filter for Bonus to Elites, and then sorted by armour, so jewelry would appear first.

No problem
Also a nice tip when looking for SoJ's. Sort by time remaining, if its been on the AH for 5+ hours and not sold, its most likely overpriced. If you look at ones with 1h12 and 1h11 remaining, you can snipe some really sick deals. I got a cold damage high ww crit/high elite damage SoJ for way cheaper than I feel it should have been.

I kissed that dream good bye when I saw how expensive even the worst -4 SoJs out there are. Jesus...
But maybe you guys could help me smooth out my farming route (WW Barb, Level 41, 70k DPS):
- Core of Arreat, from back to front - WP to Tower of Anguish Level 1 (one round) - WP to Rakkis' Crossing, clear Rakkis' and Fields of Strive - TP, WP to Keep Depths Level 3, go back to clear 3 and 2 - Do Stonefort
That's basically my route, which takes me roundabout 25 minutes.
|
Your route seems good enough. If you mean smoothing out for outright XP farming, then drop Stonefort. Though I suspect you've added that for the chance of getting a key. I do that too, and it's nice when the warden spawns at the start.
Otherwise just start with areas with low density, like Core and Tower of the Damned lvl1. Hopefully you get 5 stacks from these two zones, though sometimes I only end up with 3.
Then I run Arreat Crater lvl2, Keeps level 2, Rakkis and Fields. Stonefort if I feel like it, but there're too many areas that are empty to make it worthwhile for XP only.
Another alternative is to do Battlements instead of Core and Tower of the Damned. This will almost always get you 5 stacks.

Have you guys ever experimented with swapping out a skill/bloodlust for superstition? Infinite hota, no soj necessary.

Then you have to give up a useful passive slot. Unless you have LS on both weapons or at least 1 + belt, then you can't really afford to do it. I currently don't have it on any weapon =D

OK I like the new crafting plans:
|
How many did you make before that baby came out?
I farmed mats for 20 today and could barely equal my IK gloves.
|
Everyone posts their gg crafts. Same deal when hellfire rings came out. Some get lucky, some not so. I still use my first hellfire ring since it has 3.5% cc. I created ~10 more after that and the best was one with 267str, 63ar, and a socket. Now they're all brimstones or on followers.
I expect my luck will run about the same when I start making amulets.
