I hear people saying that she doesn't have a lot of knowledge about the game, but that doesn't worry me too much. She has a lot of smart people to learn from (Tasteless, Artosis and players). She'll definitely learn fast. And I also understand everything she says, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of her in the GSL.

Artosis and Tasteless can't do Code A and Code S because it's too much work, and they need a new pair of casters. Since only Kelly was hired, they'll be taking turns to cast with her. Kelly + Artosis, Kelly + Tasteless. Code S will be Tastosis, all the same.

'some' flame, just natural due to poster hating on choice and prefered their own favourite casters, i've learnt to ignore those. Well-wishers (^_^). People with genuine concern and suggestions and expressing their opinions... But I didnt actually expect shit stirrer like these... that just comes back to add fuel to the fire.. from axellerate + Show Spoiler + On February 18 2011 14:27 axellerate wrote: I quit. On February 18 2011 14:35 axellerate wrote: Why is my money going towards a caster that I do not enjoy watching? I feel that most of the community feels this way and now face a dilemma. I don't want to watch the Code A matches, half because of the obvious reasoning and the other half because I feel I should demonstrate to GOMtv that they DID mess up. I just contributed to her salary... Out of EVERYONE willing to cast... WHY. On February 18 2011 14:46 axellerate wrote: I requested a refund. Im sorry GOM... You forced my hand... notice he posted those...well..for no reason other than to just flame. and maybe get his post count up. ...andrewwiggins just stirring shit up, pretty much disagreeing with people who are saying to give Kelly a CHance. With absolutely minimal knowledge and overly inflated sense of entitlement. + Show Spoiler + On February 18 2011 14:55 andrewwiggin wrote: This. I'm sick and tired of arguing with people who think that Kelly is a decent caster at all and that we should just get used to it because that's the way it is. I have to go to ALOT of trouble to understand her at all. And there's no way she is the best caster in all of SEA. Absolutely not. On February 18 2011 15:00 andrewwiggin wrote: Have you seen the line up for this Code A? It is going to be epic. Well. WAS going to be epic. not so much now... =( I just can't believe GOM thinks that just because she's a girl, the community will love her/warm up to her and disregard her total lack of ability to cast in understandable english! O_O Does GOM really think SC2 fans are that one dimensional?? On February 18 2011 17:45 andrewwiggin wrote: Can someone ban this guy please? Where did you read that people were going to stop watching Code A because of Kelly? Hmm? Where did you read here that anyone here HATES starcraft? Eh? No I didn't think so. People said they're going to HATE watching Code A with Kelly. And if possible they will avoid it by watching a restream recast, or finding the original Korean stream or something. Read the thread before you post. On February 18 2011 17:59 andrewwiggin wrote: FINEEE. I'll give her a go! -___- But GOM better have a mad backup plan for the day after day 1 of Code A games...because if she's exactly like she is in her youtube vids, and nothing's changed... well then.. shit's gonna hit the fan. My response to each of those posts: + Show Spoiler + 1. well, i really don't have anything to say to this. lol i really don't know how to phrase all this. Because YOU have a lot of trouble listening to her the first time, you're not even going to give her a chance to improve herself. That's pretty douche-y Second part; It's not a question of wether she's the best caster, but she's the best one willing to put in the commitment to travel to Korea. Also, 'best' is an OPINION. I might think PsyStarcraft is the best caster while others will say day9. 2. Wtf man, if you hate her casting that much when the games roll around put her on mute. No one's going to care. if not go watch the korean stream. Or stream it yourself. As good as Tastosis is, I rather they want to cast it then them doing it halfheartedly. second part; Who are you to think you know why Gom chose KellyMilkies JUST BECAUSE she's a girl? It may have been one of the reason, but it WOULD NOT have been the only reason. If they just wanted a girl to cast, they could've just hired any model/caster in kroea and save no cost. No, they're flying some one in JUST to cast for us. 3. You should follow your own advice here. 4."FINEEEE. I'll give her a go! -___-" --> wat. the. fuck. over inflated sense of importance much? I personally don't care wether you watch her or not. I'm sure no one else here does. "but GOM better have a mad backup plan for the day after day 1 of code A games..." --> Really? you're only going to give the girl one day to improve? Well how would you like it if on the day you're born someone comes in and say "kk, we're going to see if you deserve to live" (bit extreme..but trying to get point across). What shit is going to hit the fan? Most people here are perfectly happy to give KellyMilkies at least a few weeks, many even a whole season to improve. Those were just some of the posters i've noticed posting numerous times.. Sorry, had to vent, posters like andrewwiggins just touched a nerve somewhere...

Might be a bad decision for GOM However, I am usually working when the GOM is being played so if I tune in, it is without sound. I guess this won't make much of a difference for me but I think it may prove to be a bad idea. Im having the same issue , its very hard to make out what she is saying. Maybe its something that would be improved with practice/experence. At first I QQ'd that she'd gotten the job just becasue she is a girl but her achievements are impressive so im willing to give her a GSL or 2 before flaming about her.

I actually found that clip pretty cool. You can hear the enthusiasm in her voice etc. Don't just stop listening the first minute in... What I just realised is, during that clip I could understand her fine when she's speaking normal pace, but when the fights start, I can't so maybe work on slowing down a bit. I actually think this is a good thing she has going for her, she actually gets really excited when casting these games, and the excitement channels through to the viewers. Reason why i watch Korean bw. Hopefully this happens in sc2.

I'm surprised and disappointed that GOMtv pays more attention to "resume" than to how those events were accepted by fans and to actual casting, and for that matter communication/speaking ability. The explanation given by this announcement as incredibly lacking, considering the scale of this mismatch. What in the world were they thinking?

I like that factor about her and I think that if she just gains some more knowledge about the game and speaks a bit slower then it will be tolerable, maybe even enjoyable. Well, firstly, yes it is. Secondly, people have trouble understanding someone who is doing a job that requires being understood. Race isn't relevant, clarity is - unless you're implying that race somehow determines how good someone's casting can be.
