I just don't have a problem at all with someone who doesn't have an American/British accent casting a game. Take for example the Carmac casts from IEM Kiev. They were great - both Rotterdam and Carmac. But they have both kind of an accent. So what nobody cared that time. Now it's this huge deal for some people in here BEFORE gsl march even started.

Its going to be interesting to see the Kestosis/Tastelly combos ![]() Why do people keep posting stuff like this? Guts/Balls/Being a Nice Person ----> None of those things automatically make someone a better caster, let alone easier to understand. I just don't get people... O_O

Thirdly, Kelly's from Singapore, and Singapore has a huge SC2 community. The SEA region also recognises her as a familiar face, which is great for e-sports and gaming around the world. Fourth, I am not too hot about the accent and enunciation, but I'm sure she'll improve. Everyone great at starcraft starts as a nub. Same principle. After all, Tasteless has had like 12 years of casting experience? Same with Artosis. I like the decision. People will still watch because of Tasteless or Artosis and Kelly gets to improve. Everyone's happy. Except the haters.

But I don't plan on waiting 12 years for her to improve...

Its going to be interesting to see the Kestosis/Tastelly combos ![]() Flaming? If you pay for a service you expect quality in return. This is has nothing to do what I do as a viewer and I bet you that not a single poster (that you claim are "flaming") are casters who applied for the job. My God, its suppose to be a ENGLISH alternative to the Korean main stream, and as of that I expect the casters to speak ENGLISH and not ENGERISH. Should have given the job to translator John he would have done a better job. + I find it weird that previous posters get temp banned for their examples but not useless posts like the one I'm quoting.

Edit: And obviously GOMTV deserves cred for helping out tasteosis in lightening the work load, you could tell some days it was just getting a bit too much .

She has been doing this for years, people don't change the way they cast in one month of GSL. If she never had any experience and these VODs of her casting were like her first couple games, I would say she might be able to improve in a month of casting with Tastosis. Im not entirely sure but it seems like she doesn't do all that much casting based on what seems to exist of her on youtube and such. i know she has a stream that was listed on TL the other day but really didn't get a sense of he doing casting since she spent the 5-10 minutes i saw of the video singing with a song she had playing. People in irc were wondering if she was trying to sing along with the song or just sort of humming(im not being an ass, this seriously was what people were trying to figure out about her stream at the time). But, i think its the idea that she doesn't do much casting that give people hope that she will improve.

You hire someone to do a job, not to improve until they can do the job. Her SEA reputation is pretty much the same as what TL is reflecting here, by the way.

However, I am usually working when the GOM is being played so if I tune in, it is without sound. I guess this won't make much of a difference for me but I think it may prove to be a bad idea.

There are tons of DotA/HoN casters that are completely understandable even when there is tons of action going on, for example the person she was casting with in that video was completely understandable. There are plenty of situations in SC2 where there is tons of action going on all over the place too, so is that what we're supposed to be expecting from her during those moments?
