Ok, maps suck. Seriously. Just played them, first two are wayyyyyy too big, third is really poorly designed but I'm not sure about crossfire.

Go watch flash play bw. same situation there, and made worse by the fact zerg has lurkers. In sc2, it should be very possible to use drops, hellion harass to open up the zerg.

Not to mention the fact that a faster 3rd or 4th means terran has more income and can max and remax faster: thus mitigating one of the advantages of zerg.

Hell yeah!

One way to stop the allins and rushes plaguing GSL play atm is to make maps bigger so scouting and distance allows you to react accoridngly ^^

CROSSFUCKINGFIRE! Awesome stuff. I hope Blizzard follows up with the same maps on ladder - might make sense, since the GSL is half-Blizzard anyway.

You can manner pylon on Biohazard at some positions, but not at others. Needs to be fixed so all positions can be manner pyloned.

Yes, all the maps are currently live on EU servers.

Not a lot of people playing them in customs though, so find a friend if you wanna check them out

Great news that GOM is considering to change the map pool and allow unoffical Maps. However, without the change in the ladder map pool, seems that now you would have to host custom games, which could be varying in different levels of skill to practice, unless you can contact friends/teammates to play with you, which I doubt there would be no problems for most high-level players.

Crossfire is such a good map to play on; CSL has used it this season before it was discontinued.
Venture Capital is better off spent on lottery tickets rather than investing in E-Sports; you'll get a far better return. The difference is simple: Koreans are tryharding at the game, foreigners are tryharding in real-life.

Some of these maps are as big as shakura's in both dimensions, which is awesome. You might eventually be seeing stuff like 5 or 6 base (insert race) vs 5 or 6 base (insert race) which will be great. Harass is generally more important on bigger maps because of the more spread out bases. TvT on these maps could take a very, very long time though.

The new maps will encourage macro games, obviously Terran is lacking in that department compared to Zerg and Protoss, hence why Terran can be safely buffed if games are played on larger maps. The maps will require some rebalancing, but it will (hopefully) be for the better.
