hey guys, two short questions:
1.) whats ur ping on iccup? 2.) what is a "good enough" ping?
ofc i know that the ping to the iccup servers doesnt mean that much as its the connection to the other player that matters, but still its kind of an indicator. btw is there a possibility on iccup to check ur ping to some other player in the channel?
with good enough ping i mean a ping that is so low that it doesnt affect an average player. (not higher than maybe c+)
thanks for any input^^

80 and about 150 although those are pings to servers not to your opponent and are thus irrelevant once the game starts. Starcraft itself is p2p not server based. However if you can't get a quick response from the icc server you probably also can't get one from the opponent. It should only be treated as a rough guide though.

When I search for a game I aways look at the sidebar. If it's green it won't lag, 3 bars yellow is a back up. At least for me it's very acurate.

/ping gives your command to the iCCup matchmaking gateway/portal. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the ping you have to your opponent. I'm sure most koreans and western americans have around 5-600 ms to the iCCup server, but they still only have 50 or whatever to their opponents if they live close.

my ping is usually around 150, dont have any lag with most north americans/europeans

my ping is actually around 500 according to iccup (from canada), although i hardly notice lag vs other players except the odd russian/chinese.

My ping is usually up in the 500s-600s, but I can host games perfectly fine on ICCup
I don't think there's really a "bad" ping; you probably can't get into ICCup in the first place if you have an incredibly low ping.

I get pings from 100-600 never lag

Around 500 for me, no lag. Well it did lag a couple of times, but not that many.

Koreans almost always have above 500-600, people in Russia and close to Moscow have the lowest ping on Iccup. Ping has no effect on your game, as already mentioned.. there is a command you can write to check connectivity with your oppo, iirc, /netinfo maybe?
