this is my laptop:
core 2 duo 2.26 ghz 4 gb ram geforce 9400m
does anyone know how the 9400m's perform? i know they are pretty weak but specifically i'm wondering if it can handle the game @ 1280 x 800 on medium settings?

Do u have a macbook? because if you don't you just happened to have everything they do. And if so i heard they are coming out with a mac client soon so at that point we should know how they perform. :D

There is definitely something wrong there - you should be getting 60+ fps at max settings.

I am really not having much trouble with streams, only the higher quality streams when they go over Zerg creep. but thats it.

Processor: Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz Hard Drive: 500GB RAM: 4GB DDR2 Connection: 5MB up 5MB down Graphics: Geforce 9800 GT 512MB
Runs the game seamlessly, provided that there isn't somebody with a fisher price modem on the other end. Default graphics are ultra high.

You sure thats not 5Mb/5Mb? either way thats a nice up-speed you have there, most I can get by me is 2Mb up, 15Mb down. Anyway:
OS: Windows 7 64bit CPU: Intel Q6600 quad-core 2.4, OC to 3.84 Mobo: Nvidia 790i FTW Ram: 8Gb 1600 Mhz DDR3 (4x 2GB) Graphics: Currently on an 8800gt, planning to upgrade to a gtx480 in june/july Hard drives: 1x500Gb OS/Apps, 2x250gb in RAID 0 for games, separate 2TB NAS for storage PSU: Tagan ITZ series 1100watt

flying_moose I would grab a GTX 480 as soon as it comes out
god knows how much trouble Nvidia will have with supply. :/

RAM ?? 6 vs 12
im gonna buy a new desktop for SC2 in a few months...and unlike many ppl...im not gonna buy something that can barely run it on low to mid settings....im gonna buy a fuckin monster that could run SC2 ten times at once. im looking at maybe...1300-1400ish USD's...without the monitor and other peripherals.... ..so just the tower. im probably gonna go with the i7-920 or 930 (LGA 1366) with some nice graphics card...so sure which one yet...but my main question is for the RAM.
im sitting here with my 2006 P4 3.0GHz with 1GB ram...and im reading posts from some nerds writing that they now have 6Gigs of ram...which of course seems a lot from my perspective... but ive seen that other nerds have 12GB of RAM....now thats really gangsta. thats what im talking about....but is it useful? can any technical dude here give me an example of a situation where 6 GB might not be enough? im talking mostly from a gamer's perspective but could this help me return searches faster from my 530GB music collection?
thx
