ASUS UL80Vt-A1 1.3GHz Intel SU7300 Core 2 Duo Processor NVidia G210M Graphics with 512MB DDR3 + Intel GMA 4500MHD (Switchable VGA) 4GB of DDR3 RAM $823.53 The thing that really got me on this one was that they say 8-11 hours of battery if your running on the integrated graphics card (which is good cause this is mainly for college and some Starcraft 2) If you guys have anything better PLEASE give me suggestions lol.

![]() Depending on how well SCII utilizes my 5870 I am anticipating ultra settings. I could get bottlenecked on my cpu though and might have to lower it a bit with any luck I'll be able to test it.

And I dont know...If any of you guys are in/have gone through college, is it important to have good battery life? + Show Spoiler + Battery life is not that important unless you're allergic to carrying your power adapter in your bag along with the laptop. Any kind of study area has outlets for laptops. Possibly you could have classes that require the use of laptops, or maybe for some reason you like taking notes on laptops; if so and you have multiple of these classes in a row (unlikely all of these things together), then you might want longer battery life. Also, what computer you want depends on your area of study probably. To be honest, for a laptop I would put these specs in order of importance: Build quality and durability > battery life > performance Your mileage will vary of course. Another option you might consider is getting a cheap mini laptop or netbook and then a budget gaming computer (total cost of both equal to your original target amount). A laptop at $800 is not going to play games better than a desktop at $500 or whatever with good deals on parts.

How much is that computer going to cost you? @ Fruscainte: According to the Blizzard minimum requirements, you should be able to run the game. The 3450 is around the ATi 9800 in performance according to Tom's Hardware.

How much is that computer going to cost you? the thing was about 1k usd, i thought about building one of my own, but didn't have the patience or enough know how for it and I really needed a new computer (i had like 2 old laptops from 2002 and 2006, couldn't do anything on them). How well will I be able to run SC2, i don't need to be lagged to death on 2v2 with 200/200 armies. I'm kinda hoping the 8gb of RAM will at least take me somewhere...

The GPU is the most important part to consider when running games. You could have 400GB of RAM, but if your GPU isn't up to par, you might as well have 2GB of RAM, because that extra RAM does NOTHING. This whole RAM myth is one of the best engineered in the world ;_; What resolution are you planning to run SC2 at?
