difference between APM and EAPM?

azumit 4 Posts July 05 2009 07:38 GMT #1 i was interested to check out my apm and downloaded a tool called "bwrepinfow.exe" there 2 different views of apm: Average APM and Average EAPM does anybody knows what means the second one and were is the difference?

PH United States6173 Posts July 05 2009 08:06 GMT #4 EAPM runs some kind of an algorithm on your actions that does not count certain amounts of redundancy towards it. Basically, it tries to filter out as much spam as possible in your actions. It gives you a good idea of how much of your actions are actually useful and how much are wasted. APM simply averages all actions recorded in the replay and displays that number. The EAPM should give you a lower number and a redundancy percentage...that's an indicator of how much or how little you're spamming. It's a good tool to try to streamline your mechanics a bit and play more efficiently, but it's not an end-all-be-all. There have been several versions of EAPM released under different names, and they're all about as valid as any other. It's a useful tool, but is only an indicator.

maybenexttime Poland5649 Posts July 05 2009 08:56 GMT #5 I noticed that when you rapidly change screens by double tapping a hotkey (e.g. when changing the views between your mnm contain vs. a lurker opening and your base) it's considered as spam. So, yes, it's not always accurate.

WhuazGoodJaggah Lesotho777 Posts July 05 2009 09:21 GMT #6 it has several weak spots and therefor your need to use it with care as you need to do with anything. if you look at EAPM, it's important how such actions happen. Very often it is just 12121212 (or 1313 or 25252525) this is filtered pretty good and shows often how much high APM guys are abusing and why you win against them even with much lower APM. what it is not catching is same actions on a hotkey group, it only checks the latest actions. so stuf like 1a2a1a2a1a2a are not counted as spam eventhough they basicaly are.

See when it correspond to which situation (Best when combined with self private FPVOD) to understand your mechanics efficiency.
