I don't know, it does sound like a communist ideal when I look at it, definately not something that would ever pass in liberal countries.

Yeah, it's good! Big Brother is watching you and there is no crime anymore. Are you just an idiot or do you really believe what you are saying? China is a fucking dictature, the governement wants to have as much control on people as they can, including on the internet. If you believe that's good, go live in North Korea. Sometimes I understand why democraties are so fragiles: because people are not smart enough to give any value to their liberty. And I'm not talking about the liberty of buying a new pair of Nike shoes, but of the liberty of not having to give you id everywhere you go and be under control in whatever you do.

the main reason a foreigner cannot register for a korean online game is because the registration requires a korean citizenship social security number. this is nothing like communism.

I think law system is "state interfering with personal freedom, for the good of everyone". I mean you can't just go and kill that guy, rape that chick, and rob that grandma, and get away with it. I don't think the communism is that bad in china anyways, but i haven't studied it. Maybe they have other problems like poverty and humane right issues (child workers and political prisoners). Political prisoners is the worst thing i know about china, and then comes poverty (which probably leads to child workers right?)

This act expresses the statist social restrictions common to both communism and fascism; by dismantling the infrastructure of privacy, the government strengthens its ability to enforce said social restrictions.

If making people register with their real names on video games instead of using a false id is communist then I don't even want to know what you think of our Patriots Act...

I didn't have to give id anywhere I go in China. Except when I buy alcohol. What a fucking dictature (<= what the hell is this word even mean?) country.

You're leaving out the part where the government restricts the amount of time you are allowed to play a game, with the intention of making you a more effective and valuable contributer to the state. Political prisoners is the worst thing i know about china, and then comes poverty (which probably leads to child workers right?) The law does not interfere, it protects the rights of individuals, while China often justifies breaking those rights for the greater good (how many lost their house again for the olympics, with basically no compensation?) There's a difference between directing someone's free time and limiting someone from breaking someone elses rights. You don't think it's bad, but you have no idea what it's like, kind of a silly thing to say. It's definately not good for the individual, studies show that generally people in democratic countries lead happier lives than individuals in communistic countries.

Yes. Because after you play those three hours, you must go work in the factory after. God forbid you go outside and get some fresh air. Honestly, I think the idea is kinda lame. (Exp reduction) but the intention of making you a m ore effective and valuable contributor to the state? A bit of a stretch dont' you think? Look, you don't like China. We get it. Just put it in your sig instead of distorting every thread with China = dictatorship.

People play in these virtual communities to hide from the real world for many reasons such as self-insecurity, playing a different personality, or even just to hide from friends and family. [QUOTE] what about playing just to have fun? not everyone is hiding from reality.

Blaming Regan is a little cliche btw. Also there was communism before that so perhaps this tension has been around for more than 20 years. To everyone else: Seems like a strange place to be arguing about these social issues. Probably shouldn't derail the thread, as if you remember (you probably forgot by now) the OP was about ID registration. Ur blowin it
