Honestly, I think the idea is kinda lame. (Exp reduction) but the intention of making you a m ore effective and valuable contributor to the state? A bit of a stretch dont' you think? Look, you don't like China. We get it. Just put it in your sig instead of distorting every thread with China = dictatorship. Don't be a douche, I don't think the government should interfere with personal lives because I believe they have no right to. Stop making ridiculous strawmans that have nothing to do with what I said. Look at the big picture, if the government has the right to limit how much games you play, what internet sites you can visit, among other things, doesn't that make you wonder about the rights you have in the eyes of the government?

If you called me lazy and fat because I was from the US I'd probably call you an asshole too, you know>? Maybe you should grow some balls and take a stance. Different cultural upbringing? You think there was some kind of video game epidemic in China that decimated their population? What a bunch of agreeable crap. And what has calling an individual fat got to do with calling a government system faulty? A Chinese person has no reason to be insulted when you call their government a piece of crap. Stop making retarded comparisons please!!!!!!!!!!

Honest, I'm glad you paid attention in the first ten minutes of your logic class enough to hear the term "strawman" but did you sleep through the rest of it? You sure seem to take an awful lot of offense from other people's opinions. For a guy touting free speech and the like, you sure don't like many people using theirs.

The Chinese mob kids yelling " RAcism ! U jealous ! U damn WESterner" if there are criticism of the Chinese governement are quite annoying. Fuck relativism and stupid people who can't understand that criticising.politicians doesn't mean that you hate the country or its citizens. Anyway who cares, i don't live here.

If you're referring to me calling the motives of the Chinese government aimed at making the individual as effective as possible to the state, and that the state comes first in China, I don't really see how that is a strawman because I genuinely believe that's true and all the evidence I see points towards it. You mention forced labor and factory work because I call personal freedom limited in China, that's a little different. Also you say "I don't like China" when all that I dislike is their government, that's 2 strawmen.

I don't think any of those posts ever came up. Though we did have a few people calling others idiots, douche, and ball less. Those weren't the "Chinese mob kids" though?

Did you ever read the op's post? As for calling the motives, yes, there are motives of /any/ country aimed at making an individual as effective as possible to the state. In any government, their country comes first. (hopefully?) So I don't see how singling out China in this perspective is anything less then just nitpicking. Which leads me to the "I don't li ke China" part. Also if you really dislike your government, I point you to this post http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=86183 which I notice you suitably ignored.

There, done. Offtopic: The law only effects certain games I believe.

What's up with your smug sarcastic tone? Yes I believe that when you insult a government an individual shouldn't feel insulted, that's exactly what I think, and I don't see how that defies logic. Individual =/= government, especially when the government is not democratic. If an individual gets insulted when you call their government bad they are a bunch of nationalist idiots. They are basically fighting for the ideal that their government is without fault, which is incredibly ignorant. oh I guess you wanted me to react to this post On January 17 2009 03:39 KissBlade wrote: Pardon me for trying to understand the situation here. But is it really out of genuine concern for Chinese citizens? Because if you genuinely care about the Chinese people, wouldn't it make more sense to be more involved and active in the plights of Asians in your own country first? Asians (Chinese included) are often one of the most persecuted in most foreign countries (heck even other countries in Asia), a little research would go a long way to show what you can do. Unless of course you're doing it simply for the thrill of bashing another nation. If that's the case, well, you're just a very sad person. =P Uhhh I don't see how Asians in my country or other western countries are persecuted? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I have a problem with limiting personal freedom. And this isn't about Asians, it's about governments that don't guarantee your human rights above all other things. So no, it wouldn't make sense for me, at all.

Summary: it is not your business + if you make criticism of the government you are an idiot and a China hater. That's some serious nationalistic ego issues.

The first line was just a flat out insult. An individual has all rights to be insulted if you call their government a piece of crap. (as you referred to it earlier) The government is part of the same country that the individual draws their national identity from. And this is especially true in a country like China, which if you studied history, has been stepped on and spat upon by more or less the entire European league, US and Japan. There is a reason Chinese citizens have a solidarity with their government and it has fuck all to do with what the government tell them. It's more because the government managed to reclaim China for the Chinese instead of having spheres of influences still in the nation that reads "no Dogs, no Chinese allowed". Think a little before you speak. If you go on /any/ Chinese forums, you will see plenty of dissent against government control at times. There is no way, Chinese citizens think their government without fault. However, that being said, it's still /their/ government.

Untrue, I think if you want to make criticisms of the government then put it where it belongs. But having /every/ thread derail into a Chinese government bashing thread gets really really old.
