If you are vaccinated and you have no underlying diseases there is no reason to be afraid of COVID you will be fine. Driving a car aint 100% safe either but we agree as humans the risk involved and its acceptable.

MY OPINION emphasis on my opinion here is stop being afraid of COVID, if you have no underlying diseases just respect the rules in the country you are in. So for the love of God if you are a healthy young chap stop letting this stupid virus effect how you feel go out there have fun but respect the covid rules at all times.

Considering I'm sitting at home right now with COVID i'd say I'd probably be safe to attend a live event but I don't exactly think they're safe right now. Omicron is no joke, it doesn't care if your vaccinated or even boosted it'll get ya anyway.

I would have been able to interpret this poll in an optimistic light ("People from well-managed countries with low risk probably have less reason to be concerned!") but the ignorant responses continue to prove otherwise. I know I'm harping on at this point but this poll has struck another nail in the coffin for my faith in other humans.

Just one story about long-haulers, or people who are asymptomatic transmitters attending a wedding and killing someone's family members, is all you need to understand that it is not a fucking joke. You're young and healthy, you'll be fine! FFS I have family that can't even be vaccinated and the long term effects are a crapshoot at this point. Have some fucking perspective.

I don't want to attend anything that isn't absolutely necessary.

People who can get seriously ill from covid should never go to a wedding in the first place. And if you are vaccinated you will be fine unless you have some extremely serious disease then you should not go anywhere during this pandemic and stay as safe as possible until its over.

It might sound brutal but if you are not vaccinated and or vaccinated but have a illness that can make you really sick you should not go to a wedding, you don't blame someone at the wedding for that person getting sick that is just insanity.
If there was no test required to enter the wedding then you know the risk and its your own responsibility.

Fully vaccinated and boosted. I will wear a mask whenever necessary if businesses / government sites need it, but I don't feel uncomfortable going out. I have a relative that is immunocompromised, but they have had covid twice now, (we think,) and is doing just fine. Get vaxxed and lets move on with life.
You're getting cynical and that won't do I'd throw the rose tint back on the exploded view

Selected very comfortable.

No requirements for vax, booster, masks, or testing, people can make their own choices at this stage. Also, feel comfortable being relatively young, healthy, and not morbidly obese.

This may trigger some, but its just my opinion of course. Glad to see the majority of poll respondents seem to agree so far selecting very comfortable. Time to get back to e-sports.

I think you're misinterpreting the poll results. I voted that I feel very comfortable because I would attend an event with a vaccine or test within 24 hours requirement. While not necessarily out of any fear of safety for myself (more because I'm triple vaxxed than my health and age, young healthy people have died of COVID-19 in high numbers relative to other causes of death for that group) I would not support the type of event that you're describing.

I see, my interpretation was that somewhat comfortable would be people that are comfortable going but with potential restrictions and precautions. Very comfortable would be people just willing to let it rip no matter what.

entirely comfortable on a personal level. Being double soon to be triple vaccinated and in fairly good shape I am not afraid of contracting covid, it'll most likely be very mild.

But that's separate from 'is hosting big events with people flying in from all around the world a good idea'. The answer to that question from my perspective is more related to the particular time and region - it's not a good idea to host such events in places experiencing particularly impactful surges in hospitalizations, but if a region has things under control, sure thing.

Then the problem is that it seems rather difficult to predict this on a two+ month time frame. But in general, I think we do need to start moving forward.

Give the population a reasonable chance to defend itself, then let the virus spread through the population as quickly as possible without it overwhelming the local healthcare systems. The longer it's around the more chances it has to mutate and the greater the cost to society, but if it spreads too quickly people with other perfectly treatable illnesses will die unable to get the healthcare they need due to resources being used by people with covid. I feel sorry for the younger people who are the point of their lives where they should be living it up, but at the same time, nothing is more important than good health - that includes the other people you know and love too.

Personally, I would attend a tournament if there were reasonable protections put in place - masks, vaccinations, social distancing etc.

I selected somewhat comfortable, because I would be somewhat comfortable, given the maximum safety measures (3x vaxxed+ tested+ masks + distance in the Venue as well). If the event was like you discribed, I would be very unconfortable and would defnatly 100% not go there

Those conditions put you at VERY COMFORTABLE?!!

I don't think it'll be too bad by then, but crowded events right now are essentially a guaranteed exposure. That doesn't necessarily mean you'll get infected since vaccines do still have some effect (certainly at preventing severe disease). But with Omicron, even a booster is insufficient for complete protection in most people. There also seems to be diverse symptoms with infection not necessarily causing respiratory disease. One such is rashes and hives. It's hard for me to feel good about going into that. Indifferent at best....

Can confirm, I'm just getting over Omicron and the respiratory effects were very minor compared to the other symptoms I had, hives and rashes being some of them.

Just because this thing is unlikely to kill you at this point if you've been vaccinated doesn't mean it's something you want to come down with believe me.

I honestly think Covid has been the best thing to happen to severe introverts who can finally take pride in being anti-social. At some point people will have to be able to make a personal choice (speaking as a vaxxed/boosted person), whether it's now or later I don't know.

Having seen the mental harms that a lot of the reaction to Covid has done in my immediate family, it horrifies me that the result of this poll is so balanced and not slanted way more towards completely comfortable, and that such cases are much more widespread than I first assumed

I was in Katowice in 2020 and had a bad three week flu that started pretty much exactly two weeks after I'd returned. Back then we didn't really have testing capacity set up yet, and it was never confirmed, so who knows whether it was COVID or not. Or whether I actually picked it up from the event or not. Only a tiny number of people were wearing masks. Most bars were absolutely packed to the brim because they didn't let the audience inside the venue.

Personally I'd be worried about infecting vulnerable people, but as I said, I can quarantine pretty easily after an event. I'm comfortable taking that risk for myself, but I know that I'm generally not exactly risk-averse.

At Blast Fall Finals in Copenhagen they had a mix of lateral flow tests and masks. At VCT Masters Berlin we had tests daily, and masks at most times. But those were both before Omicron really took over, so might be different.

My concerns would be whether my government, or others, change the rules on international travel which would leave me between a rock and a hard place. Things appear to be winding down here, but I'd rather not chance it at the moment. Same applies to event organisers and any stipulations they put in place in the future. Otherwise, I have no real issues as such.
