(A) Try to get in contact with the owner. Find him and give it back. (B) Walk on. not my business. (C) Destroy the Phone. Clearly the most fair thing for everybody involved. (D) Take it. Tough luck for the owner, he should know it's a dog-eat-dog world. (E) Take it with you, search the internet for what punishments there are and compare them to the chance of getting caught. I agree with most of what you said. I acknowledge the importance of criticism and public debate, however, I disagree with the approach most people here take. There is hardly any debate, nor is there any constructive criticism. This is a crusade to take verbal revenge for wrongs he hasn't even commited. Not only does this needlessly feed the hatred, it makes obvious that it's nobody's goal here to effect a change in his behavior or morals. | ||

i voted B, though on good days i might do A. call it a product of today's insanity where you can be sued for trying to save someone's life. who knows, maybe the phone is part of a crime scene. (i'm not going to pick it up to see find bloodstains) completely situational, of course. | ||

1. Return the phone, be happy with yourself and your decision. Or. 2. Don't return the phone, use it, and probably still be happy with yourself. That's all that matters. If you don't find a problem in keeping and using the phone in question, who are we to tell you otherwise? You're obviously not going to change your mind based on what we say. And even if they are trying to "entrap you" by leaving their phone on/stolen (which would probably would not result in any sort of gain for them because they waited till you used it to report the robbery, 1-2 weeks), that is even more reason for you to return it. Don't waste more time arguing your point. Admit that you were wrong about thinking about keeping the phone, and just return it. | ||
