The 445 Ashvane Trinket is the best thing I got....followed closely by the Font of Power (tho only 420 ilvl) so my 2 trinkets are the most exciting thing about my gear lol but they are BiS for my class to use both.

I'm still having issues w/ toxicity in guilds, especially since at the mythic level people have to keep 25 players on roster and the general playerbase is quite immature so it seems inevitable that there will be a few bag eggs in there.

It seems too much to ask for people not to use slurs against guildies for e.g. race, gender/sex, disabilities and such. My current guild leadership does not want to make a rule against it after several debates during raids; this is something that i'd consider basic human decency but a lot of people seem to think otherwise.

Like.. rule 1, don't be a dick! That 1000% includes not using slurs against people that have asked you to stop.

Yeah online games can definitely attract the douchey gamer crowd, generally I was lucky, when I was playing and in a Guild the worst I usually heard was the 50 year old GMs talking about the specifics of their sex life.

Still feels exceptionally douchey to be asked to stop and not though, usually in those cases it seems like noone ever speaks up.

Sadly there's probably not much overlap between being a mythic prog guild and a socially mature guild.

Islands depend entirely on the mobs present. If you get any sauroks ever its super fast because they are like 6k azerite for 45s worth of work.

Most of it's locked in for the whole week, but you need to do a few dozen islands to build a good list of what not to pull on that island/week. This week it's mainly just regular mobs - water elementals (spammed ranged long-duration slow) and vultures (disorient). Gotta stay away from some naga mobs because they spam nets at you at close range, but it doesn't seem to happen during pulling.

Snowblossom is just easy free 450 azerite especially this week, one of the others is meh and the last one is slow - low mob density, awkward multi-leveled terrain and set to spawn naga this week

I came back for the current patch and quit again 3 days later after I realized how much farming and questing I was supposed to do.

In a way this is where FF14 can have a pro for them. Due to how they are a vertical gear progression, coming back at anytime is never a terrible investment to get geared up (unless you are legit an expansion behind type of thing). With how a lot of character power is behind essences and stuff right now, you simply are just behind until you grind all of them out, whether its rep/honor/ap/etc.

WoWs gearing system is pretty meh. The fact that 425 benthic gear is just bis for raid dps is pretty bad. Makes a good portion of raid gear not feel enjoyable when you get it, and by the time you get it you hate life because you have been grinding hundreds of pearls for it.

Server just lagged so hard that it kicked 2 people out of a mythic island and zoned 2/3 of my group (not our last guy!) into the in-progress island when we queued up. Bizarre bug and i got no idea how to reproduce it lol

You can't even queue for anything but a fresh island with a full group.

People i'm boosting with keep tripping automatic permabans from handling too much gold, LOL. There's an insane amount of cash flow in boosting (on the scale of a billion gold per week for sure). 3 day appeal response time for automatic punishments right now

Thats unfortunate. But if thats the kind of people you are playing with then its probably better for you in the long run.

Not that wanting to play classic over retail is bad or anything but if your goals done align its probably not worth. We all too old to deal with that shit.

Yeah was about to ask how everyone's raids are going.
I always expected a ton of raid guilds to explode with classic release. So I would think stuff like with Cyro is pretty standard right now.

We're holding on for dear life. Pugging a few spots to re-clear 3/8 M which has worked so far but we are unable to get enough signs to keep progressing Ashvane. In talks with another guild on our server with similar progression. The idea is that we form a raid team with them (10 from each side) and try to get Ashvane down. I really hope that goes through but we'll see.

There was a big flood of people rejoining for 8.2 so easy recruitment / hard to join guilds going into TEP. Stuff was dying down for the last month or so but the classic release was a huge event that wiped out a big chunk of skilled players overnight so we're back into guilds struggling to fill rosters.

A somewhat stable playerbase is probably best for guilds, there's a lot of resistance to forming new guilds or disbanding/merging when the amount of available players shifts suddenly so you can end up being unable to join guilds as a player or unable to raid as a guild. Unfortunate that seasons & external releases create swings like that which are large enough to cause a lot of issues.

The tuning is a bit screwy in the first half of TEP too - Ashvane M is my second longest combat time fight in all of the raids that i've done (falling behind only Mannoroth); compared to Radiance which i have a wipe count of literally zero on.

People like that are why I took a break this tier from mythic raiding. It feels really bad being in a guild that ranks somewhere in the 140-150 world range and still feeling like at least half of them are mindless idiots. It's common in every guild because people don't want to bench/kick the veteran players, even though the new players are being recruited under standards the vets probably couldn't pass if they had to.

I swear even when we were deep into Stormwall Blockade farm last tier we still had the same 2-3 people dying to swells/pools in every one of our kills
