The lines of criticism are kind of a mush in my mind, considering the two bigger eSports failures were games I did not personally play. The foremost in my mind was our very own (ok former) stuchiu's mini-failure from Blizzard. Beforehand, various articles detailing the insane amounts of money invested that didn't keep viewers interested long enough to justify the investment and sponsors and buzz. Then dissatisfied streamers. The breadth and specifics of Blizzard's role are a little too large for me to reproduce here, but I'm sure internet searches would get you the same content I read to form my opinion. I feel like for HOTS at least, the thing that went wrong is its soooo slow to watch, i watched some tourney and 5 kills @ 40 minutes was an "overthe top and exciting game" when you could go watch Dota for example, know nothing about whats happening and still be entertained cause it isnt as hard to figure out, nor is it slow. League to a lesser extent cause its also just as slow as heroes in some respects(long game low kills) or at least was the last time I watched anyway. That and blizzard pulling out of the market. For overwatch for me it was like say, CS without the high skill cap and its like watching someone pin 20 headshots on a tanky character isnt anywhere near as exciting as someone flicking and headshotting 2 people in a 1v2 for example. Most of their esports in those 2 cases are drawn from the fact they're not very fun to watch compared to other more established games out there imo. Sc2 suffers from poor balance management among other things as well(things BW never had to worry about) and they've afaik patched less stuff character wise in wc3 than sc2 in recent years. Since a big thing in that can tip the favor would be x creep dropping a super good item more often than others, which at times ive read can be completely game breaking in some situations.

Why are you shifting the goal posts now? It went from 2 classes being unplayable to "show me a raid where there is many hunters/druids". ![]()

I did you are just ignoring it *shrug* Your own videos don't even prove your point as at least 2 of those videos both contain hunters and druids. Hmm somehow unplayable despite being brought by private server raiders who have min maxed everything about the game. Hmm yet they still brought unplayable classes.

Should everyone whose classes were not brought to Method's world 1st Mythic clear of BoD just reroll? Shit I play a Frost DK and they aren't doing that great in BoD...I mean its insane to think that if you aren't part of some optimal comp that is pushing cutting edge that your class is trash and not viable to be played. Its that kind of garbage logic that make certain classes/specs having a hard time getting groups in BFA. Not sure who Prometheus is but if he has argued against this point you are failing to make then yea I agree with him.

The 2.5 years I spent playing a Druid in Vanilla must have been a hallucination.

Our raid group had feral, boomie, and resto druids. We progressed fine (server 1st group) and none of them were a massive hindrance in fights. However, that doesn't mean classic when it comes out will replicate that experience. A large majority of people were bad players in vanilla and most of the time was spent learning the game and how things work (Like a lot of + weapon skill info wasn't even fully researched until AQ40 stuff). With previous knowledge of how it all works, people are going to be playing at a much higher level just due to the amount of info available. It will not replicate how vanilla played and anyone that thinks that way is probably setting themself up for being a bit disappointed.

The issue for Balance was gear. There was very little spell damage leather so they needed to have access to cloth and most guilds had too many cloth classes to even consider letting that happen. If you somehow did though you hit very very hard. I remember a Druid on my server call Stian who managed to get access to a cloth set and absolutely dominated BGs. That's all from memory tbf. It was a long time ago.
