Happens when gear is used for nerfing raids rather than changing the numbers on bosses. SoO bosses didn't live very long either in the end.

You can do better if the RNG is there, it would just take a lot of pulls(16-17s, maybe maybe 13-15). They just walked through the instance with two guilds on main and alt mages and took most of the #1 killtimes in 1 raid, they're #1 on every boss aside from assault now (which is a timed boss, it always takes ~6:55)

Yeah no that has nothing to do with it. the insane dmg scaling of this expansion is not because of a 5 second dmg window at the start of fights.

For those who don't read the article, or don't understand it.
A bug causes trinkets to have a very very high chance to proc at the start of a fight (after a wipe) instead of the average expected chance. After this initial proc the chance behaves as expected. It has no influence past 5 seconds into the fight.

I havent played in forever, but it feels like it has quite a big influence for burst-heavy classes (like arcane mages), because the insane burst you get at the start of each pull is a consequence of trinkets consistently proccing while all your cooldowns are also going.

Also those FAQs are amazing, i love Komma lol

Oh and Blizzard seems to have recognized the gear issue a bit: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/20742444392?page=2#26 "Overall, we're attempting to cut down the on-the-pull cooldown stacking, and this is just one angle that we're attacking that problem from."

Too little too late IMO but good to see acknowledgement that the room is indeed on fire

Cooldown stacking isn't the main issue, nor is the legendary ring. They're just wood and gasoline to throw in the fire. We went from bursting 15-25k in dungeon gear to bursting 400k-900k with most classes in two tiers

They want to "fix" opening burst every expansion just like they are going to do yearly expansions. It's not even a problem during progression and nobody except Blizzard thinks it's bad that you can burst for big numbers at the end of(read year later)last tier. They ought to fix their gear scaling next expansion if they don't want numbers to go like Cyro said.

I remember in soO you used to let yourself afk on trash before Garrosh to get yourself more chance to proc on trinkets at start and yumyum numbers.

Just did H UBRS and even with basically 1 DPS on bosses, 2 of them bugged due to DPS output - the third boss despawned on the bit where he comes down on rylak, the drake boss afterwards died too early and just fell away from the bridge onto the floor below so it was unlootable lol

Heard they are pruning a lot, is it bad? Haven't looked into it deeply. I heard they are removing Spectre Guise (vanish for priest), which sucks. I think it was fun.
How are melee vs casters as of now? Design wise. Nerfed casters to the ground while taking maybe 1 thing away from melee?

Pretty huge reworks. I have five buttons (which is few compared to previous expansions..) on my DPS bar and four of them are gone in legion, the other one is reworked. Some new stuff is added to give the spec new iconic abilities since they literally removed the old ones.

Ranged will definately have a place in Legion. They're making a melee spec for the most popular class in the game and introducing a new melee-only hero class which will probably take over as the most popular class, at least for a while. It's plausible that rosters will be melee heavy while fights will still favor ranged (or at least a decent split) as usual

I heard they are removing Spectre Guise (vanish for priest), which sucks. I think it was fun.


That thing bugs half of the raid mechanics in HFC, i do dislike those buttons when they interact with bosses like that. Like, feign death and shadowmeld result in you getting hit anyway or still targetted but priest can instantly either cancel or force-retarget boss abilities. Mage can do it too with one of their buttons. It's a very overpowered mechanic to have on a couple of classes and promotes class stacking on some fights.

I believe the idea is that the basic rotation of every class is very simple and you can use talents to expand on it.
Haven't payed much attention to it myself since release is still 4-6 months away and a lot of details will change.

Yeah it's not even in beta yet i was hoping for a nice June release but it is looking more like end of summer. Latest it can be is 21st September according to the pre order thingy writing.

They said summer release when they said beta would start before christmas break - that's a solid two months overdue. I can totally see them releasing the game shortly before the deadline and relying on a patch a couple months later to fix some things.

"1 year expansion" which actually means 1 year of content with 19-21 months til next expansion. So the real questions are:

Why was 14 month SOO neccesary for this?

Was it worth cutting a tier and some world development to get new expansion 3-5 months earlier?

Yeah exactly they have alot to answer for, no one likes a raid that is fkn ages long or expansions that are "short" if the wait is just as long anyway. Much rather had 4-5 raids in this expansion with more fillers before the end game raid in hellfire. Makes no sense and is annoying. I personally didn't even get interested in hellfire raid but i did however love blackrock raid but i unsubbed 3 months ago due to nothing for me to do. Shame

I'm also worried about the "We'll change/fix it next tier" attitude when one tier lasts for 65-70% of an expansion. There's so much stuff that they're just leaving for that length of time because it's not worth bailing the water out of the sinking ship in their eyes - just focusing on the next one. And as we've seen, doing so doesn't neccesarily guarantee better quality than otherwise.
