This is part of what made me quit wow in WOD. Melee being absolutely trash tier in this expansion DPS wise made me really not want to play and I really didn't want to have to juggle 3 alts to be viable when raiding already takes up enough time to begin with and gearing up my Ret Pally/DK took long enough with both being absolutely 100% worthless in a raiding environment compared to any ranged classes.

However the main reason I quit WoD was because Blizzard continued to shit all over pvp players by releasing a net total of ZERO effort or change for the last 2 years and the insane alliance vs horde imbalance. If they continue to just not care about pvp players whatsoever I'll never sub to another blizzard game again.

Its the new blog about PvP in Legion.

So now you have to level up instead of gearing up before you are on even footing in PvP. Only that leveling up will probably take longer than gearing up takes now. Idk what is so much better about that.
Also question remains if leveling up will be gated like gearing up now or if you can just grind it.

Those PvP gearing changes are amazing and something WoW needed (and other games have had) for a very very long time. It's funny to see people raging on about how "there's no point" to PvP anymore but Blizzard have made their own bed on that one.


Only thing I dislike is that I have no power over secondary stats, I liked chosing between going full crit/full mastery/full haste etc.


I think it's good for the longrun. I think you'll still have choice in PVP and regular talents tho.

You only have to level up once per expansion as opposed to the 3-4 times grinding gear once.

The faster the kills get, the more you benefit from immune cheese to be comfortable on the fight since you can't really sit back and wait for stacks to drop off like people used to be able to do with the worse DPS

when progression does or doesn't matter is pretty much entirely subjective thing

mh the pvp changes looks good lets see now what they do about the burst/skill in pvp and also dont forget healer/dps team in 2v2s, they need to make this way more interesting to.

2v2 and 3v3 should have high priority.

What do you guys think about the new info in the recent PvP blog? Specifically, how do you feel about how they said that "gear is just gear" and you can get the best gear either in raids OR PvP. Let's say there's a BIS trinket for my class and I can get it by downing the badest boss AS WELL AS winning a top-tier RBG? I would love that if that's balanced.

For one winning top PvP will not be required as the gear there will come from lockboxes. Don't expect trinket for PvE to come from PvP either since they don't even work in PvP. Nor armor because no set bonus.

Some stuff from PvP might be useful in PvE but I would be more scared as a PvP'er to have to do PvE to get items now that ilvl is everything.
Imo its a change made to get more PvE players to spend time on PvP by removing gearing up.

I dont see how this would make PvE players play more PvP, except the items you get are somehow useful in PvE.

I am a PvE player that plays some PvP casually. I do it for fun but also because I like gearing up. Imo gearing is part of the fun in WoW. Also I could use some PvP gear to fill gaps in my PvE gear, especially when PvP season 2 started.

Bottom line: winning gear makes PvE players play PvP.

No man, there was this huge gear difference which made playing pvp really boring as fuck. Even in arena and everywhere even.

Gear gap in PVP is way bigger than it used to be - but then again gear gap EVERYWHERE is way bigger than it used to be. If you compare the bottom 25% vs top 25% in TBC vs WOD, you'll see a much bigger gap now.

The blue shit is as good as as anyone has at the beginning of the season, except for the 2k+ guys.
Who cares if conquest points are hard to come by outside arena if you get them for free inside arena. Since the weekly cap is 1000 all you need is spend like 1 hour per week on arena (5 min per game, win 50% of games, 180 points per 10 min). You get them no matter your rating, no matter your effort, no matter your equip.

Compared to PvE it is a complete joke how free PvP items are and how little time it takes.

But if you're new to PVP and have shit gear you have more like a 10-20% winrate, not 50.

I averaged way less than 12 games per hour when i tried it; about 6-10

i do still agree on the time, back when i did pvp a LOT it was when you needed to do alterac valley 25 times for the marks to buy one armor piece - for the entry level set

I went iskar HC pug with four 12/13m guys and a bunch of randoms to make it 20-30 man for slight chance of a cloak upgrade and it took almost two hours of wiping and 67 DPSers logged on Skada because of so many replacements who just did no damage or had no idea what to do even after a quick explanation before every pull - and that was just from the 710+'s on finder

I understand the struggle. We've had to pub our last 2-3 on mythic progression (early lower tier) and some people are just bad. 720+ dps pulling under 40k.

In our heroic runs we bring in new people to see how they do for chance at bringing them into the raid team and last week I was on my alt monk tank (711 ilevel), and out healed all the healers except our core disc priest (725 ilevel). Had a 713 priest and 703 druid that couldn't pull more than 30k a piece =/. Its crazy that some people just don't get better with gear.

That's not suprising at all if you had a disc heal there with other healers added. At this point a geared disc is going to hog all healing at heroic HFC. I have to solo heal up to gorefiend to even have anything to do, for 18-22 man raids.

Yeah there is only so much damage being done in a fight and a 725 Disc priest is way overgeared for heroic, and being a disc priest means he's just going to shield everyone and your other healers are gonna sit there with their thumbs up their asses
