Meh, maybe. I don't know, HC cenarius wasn't that hard once we got a better idea of wtf to do. Xav just has so much going on and then some people fuck up on their insanity and it starts to become a mess. On Cenarius it boiled down (to us anyway) to just moving to predetermined locations after each add wave so we're ready to deal with the next one. Everyone clear stacks at the start of a wave, move in to nuke tree/drake(s)/sisters and then clearing again, then lust and zerg boss when it's low enough. Brambles are a bitch, but for once we got a rogue or 2 with brains and even a hunter, so they keep the area clear.

People just took a while to get cenarius down while xavius didn't seem to put out as much raid damage or threaten wipes as much. We had major problems with nightmare brambles which fixate and chase somebody without any indication of who they are locked on to which was wiping the raid constantly on 30 man, hitting 50-100 dispels sometimes in one fight - went to 20 man and it was easy to handle.

Ah, also a part of the reason why this tier went notably quicker with the top guilds, is the accessibility of the gear. With Mythic+ and all the crazy potential of gear if you have a decent amount of people dedicated and skilled enough, you can actually outgear Mythic raids with enough titanforged/legendaries/warforged pieces.

I don't think this matters for 99% of the people progressing, but what it could mean, is that getting a very high mythic+ clear in 5mans could be considered more difficult or prestigious even than mythic raiding.

Not sure if its good or bad, but it might be considered bad to the world first hardcore progression raiders.

As WW Monk, there's a specific trait that's so good to be boosted by a relic that if you don't have that, a relic can be 15 ilvl higher and still not be as good lol

I'm a WW monk. It's the transcendence heal trait. :D

I went counter-clockwise and really wish I had that haha. I like having little tricks like that, and since there's a bit of downtime in the rotation, it's not an inconvenience. The other cool thing on the MW side of things is to drop your spirit to snare mobs. I use this on ilgynoth, putting it near the eye so whenever an ichor is in the killzone, it is automatically snared by 40%. It's actually really helpful, since any normal snare applied too early makes them get to the right spot slower. Constant AE snare in killzone is pretty nice. Also it's the perfect spot to port out of the heart area at the end of phase 2, not that you really need to be cutting it that close.

btw any other monks use the tumblerun brew with chi torpedo for doing world quests? so fun zooming past people on mounts and zooming around quest areas and always having +60% movespeed when walking around

It's nice but it's not worth an additional relic trait.

What is Tumblerun brew? I'm frantically looking around for a spell I've not been using at all. I'm too used to having Tiger's Lust atm.

Apparently there are a number of monk only crafted(?) brews that give cool benefits in the open world.
Tumblerun removes Roll cooldown.
Nothing is impossible, only some things for some people.

Holy shit Exorsus the most stable team left in the race from since forever finally get a huge blow in a world first race. Actually dominated this race and Serenity will feel a bit hard done by as instead of jumping straight into mythic yesterday they did 2-3 split runs on heroic to grab extra pieces of gear so they are l ike 2-3 hours behind Exorsus in time and it cost them dearly! Wow. Did not expect Xavius did within 18 hours of release on EU haha.

Why it was hard.

So the boss does 2 things that are actually dangerous.

First off, he charges someone and applies a bleed. The charge does 75%~ of hp and bleed 20% per tick.

Luckily, if only one person is at range, he will always charge them, and we had a mage to blink all of them to avoid them.

Secondly, there is the aoe damage that he does.

If you handle the spawning the shades perfectly, this is what happens. (shades one side, everyone else the other)

It starts at 560k damage over 4 ticks. Each additional time that he does it adds 320k damage. He does the AoE every 15 seconds.

And the boss had 186m hp.

The last aoe on the pull that we killed it did 2.8 million aoe damage. (after armor).

That boss was insane.

Were gonna try to +2/+3 a 9 and see where that gets us. Most dungeons should be completable at +11/+12 if you don't care about the timer (arcane/surrender to madness)

Yeah its not caring about timer and completing it is the reason at 10+
I will aim for a 10+ this weekend too when i do mine but im a prot warrior so i can survive for days, just not dish out high damage atm.

That brew option is how you get BrM hidden artifact as well. Its a random drop from the daily thing.

the DoT damage is unavoidable though right? Like there's an animation that seems to indicate a range but you can't range it can you? so getting them stacked all on one side just helps with dodging the other ability (lines of smoke on the ground)

i've gotta use that trick for dodging the dashes with my monk teleport. didnt know that was possible. i think i tried it once and failed. actually i think i tried it on the black rook hold boss that does a dash and failed.

grats though! nice kill. and everyone over 300k i guess that's what happens with those buffs + pots + lust

You can even just sidestep the dash with a speed buff. I stand max range from boss and can avoid the slash with just my 40% movespeed buff from shielding myself. The aoe hits the whole room no matter where the shades are though.
