Hopefully WCS KR awards more points than other regions. Realistically you have to take into account the unique strength of korean national scene and to award even people who just qualify for code S ro32 large amounts of points.

It's more hilarious Jaedong qualified for Blizzcon by sheer EG Moneyz, he did nothing notable this year. Players like Maru, being on the top for the entire year, get shafted.
Region Lock is just another artificial solution to get more foreigners to the field, whilst WCS EU is actually proving foreigners are slowly catching up.
Result; A TON of Korean players will be forced to retire, as 3 seasons a year in which only 32 players get payed by earnings in individual leagues. Popularity drops off, Proleague seizes to exist, ggnore.
ORRRRRRRRRRR
We just enjoy Blizzcon because there's a ton of good names. Sure something will fill the gap Korean players will experience !

Honestly killing Korean Starcraft would pretty much kill Starcraft itself. I hope they find a solution to avoid the depletion of the Korean scene...

Korea needs another tournament. There should be GSL and WCS there so it functions kinda like OSL and MSL back in the day. Add in a KESPA cup once a year and wcs points should be good in korea. With PL and smaller cups koreans will have plenty to play in then.

I actually loved those season finals. The problem with them was that they put too much emphasis on WCS performances (you perform well in WCS -> you get a free shot at gaining even more points in finals) but they were pretty awesome tournaments to watch ! I especially remember Bomber's win in season 2 and Dear qualifying against the odds for Blizzcon. I was really surprised to see they weren't using this format this year !

Apparantly, they took the hype and epicness off region winners (NA/EU/KR) by putting them into the arena with some other players again, of whom the winners were usually other players. The regional champion should not be dethroned so fast, I suppose.
And quite expensive I suppose.
I loved the Season finals as well....
