How much does Russia owe America?
Great news for the US, bad news for the US banks investing in Russia and anyone who wanted to see weaker euro and yen and pounds I guess.
LOL! This already transpired. The Russians allowed 10 Ukrainian soldiers to stay.
It's the most genius thing Ukraine could have come up with in this situation. :3
This is already like the strangest invasion, more like a dangerous pushing match since both sides cannot and do not want to shoot at each other (yet).
One side realizes that its at a massive disadvantage and the only way it can win is in world opinion. The other side has constructed a version of the world where it cant be seen killing Russian-speaking-Ukrainian soldiers since the only reason its there is to protect Russian speakers.

Not so strange. Ukraine knows it has no chance fighting against Russia nor is it interested in doing so anyways, and Russia is not interested in going G.W. Bush and destroying anything that resembles an inhabited area. In other words, the current scenario makes perfect sense.

To be fair to me the Ukrainian position changed over night, it seems they realized the bullshit in terms of WE NEED TO MOBILIZE OUR TROOPS and WE WILL NEVER GIVE AWAY CRIMEA won't work because they have nothing to threaten with while this kind of approach might actually be smart enough to get away with.
The day Ghandi tried to conquer Russia, basically.

Doesn't this prove the Russians are there as peacekeepers if they didn't shoot everybody?

No, because technically you don't just march into another nation to "peacekeep" without being invited to do so. The issue isn't what they're doing once there, the issue is that they have, from a western perspective, no right to be there in the first place.

Only if they go home after their "peacekeeping" job is over. Something tells me, that the mission of keeping the russian people from threats that are not actually existent, wont end soon. Basically the russian troops can stay in Crimea until Russia manages to put another puppet as president of Ukraine... Everyone that is not their puppet will be called Fascist that threatens the russian speaking people and that will be the excuse for millitary ocupation of Crimea.
Not sure if this was posted before but there is information a US carrier strike group was in the Aegean Sea heading for the Black sea. 17 ships and 3 submarines involved.
In response to a Russian invasion, the United States has sent an aircraft carrier strike group into the Black Sea toward the Crimean peninsula of Ukraine. The super-carrier USS George W. Bush plus seventeen other ships and three submarines passed through the Aegean sea this afternoon. The George W. Bush is carrying 90 aircraft and helicopters of various types, including several squadron's of F-22 Raptors, the most advanced combat aircraft in the world. The submarines each have twenty four missile silos, with each silo housing a missile armed with eight separate nuclear warheads which operate as MIRV's (Multiple Independent Re-Entry Vehicles) that can be independently targeted.
