The casters don't even seem excited themselves, though a lot of the problem is the lack of crowd noises in the background. Stream really needs to include that, and needs the usual 1 excited, well-spoken caster (TB, tasteless), 1 analytic/logical caster (iNcontrol, artosis) pairing. At this point at this very moment I'm watching the Korean stream in 270P, though I speak no Korean - at least they get excited, and that helps me get excited, and is much more fun.

Wow. Really? That's hilarious. Proleague is the best Starcraft deal on the planet right now. So exciting to see the Kespa players making the transition. So what if the casting is not perfect. Its fine. Watch the freaking games man

It's past time where that was valid, if it ever was. This isn't BW, this is SC2. We need professional casters. These two aren't it.

Keep up the good work supernova and don't let the trolls hurt your heart, you're going to do great and keep improving. Just because people have 'negative' feedback, or genuinely don't like what they are experiencing, doesn't mean they are trolls. This casting is pretty damn bad. The players are clearly not very knowledgable about the game, nor do they seem very experienced at casting in general. I am experiencing pure mediocrity here. It's simply not what you expect when you're watching something legendary like pro-league. And it baffles further when you were listening to renowned casters doing this before (apollo and tb i think?) and then a downgrade into this. This is a premium spectacle we're witnessing here, but the commentary does not do it justice. I am not holding it against them that they are in the 'rushed' position they are in, not even at the studio, and left out of the loop about the broadcast. That's unfortunate, and good on them for working with that. But it doesn't begin to detract from the vocal mediocrity that isn't really bringing much to the game. They aren't even casters who have a well developed strong suit in any one direction, but suffer from being a bit imbalanced or some such. It's just plain meh all around. Some people aren't qualified for some jobs. If we sit around trying to just be positive about this kind of crap, it doesn't actually change. Get real and call spades spades. If they're casters who are cut from a cloth that has any real future with the the task, then they absolutely must be able to recognize their many, many faults and areas for potential improvement. Personally, I don't think they are cut from that kind of cloth. Not only do I not see talent, but I would not be able to honestly say that these guys seem to have real passion for the game. This cast is where excitement goes to die, as mine does, everytime I tune in to PL lately only to remember that this is how it's being casted. Suddenly, I don't care that I'm watching "proleague" or kespa players, or kespa legends, or foreigners against them. I tune out. Also, I agree word for word with what TotalBiscuit said on the last page, although I am clearly more willing to critique their casting ability.

I agree 100 percent that not ALL people that criticize are trolls, however, there are SOME people that criticize that are trolls. I would also rather see Mr. Bitter and Total Biscuit than supernova maniac. However, given that supernovamaniac is in this hostile situation and keeping a cool head and trying to improve, I find his tenacity admirable.

I don't have any interest in criticizing their casting technique but I can tell you this. Proleague is NOT the place to cut your teeth as a caster. None of us started that way, casting one of the most important tournaments in the world. We did online stuff for no pay and paid our dues while learning how to cast well. If Kespa wants foreigners interested in it's tournament, which honestly I'm only partially convinced that they do, then they need to ensure that their product is appealing to foreign audiences. With concurrent views plummeting anywhere between 50 and 75% vs the first two weeks, it's going to be tough for Proleague and hold interest and build an audience after such an early stumble. they have many issues they need to work out, but so far they havent made me cringe like other casters who yell at the audience and know jackshit about how the game is played. they need to work better together, not cut off each other and learn how to flow better. but at least the analysis is decent.

I can already watch the VODs for free on youtube and watch the matches live in HD on the Korean stream. I missed the KT/CJ ace match last night. Watched it on youtube this morning. Zero money involved. The $5 serves no purpose except to watch horrific casting in high quality.

If you think so, then don't pay this "less than Big-Mac" 5$... For me casting is pretty good, and I believe it will become better over the season. Also I think of it as supporting the western expansion of ProLeague. If lot of people watch english stream, then the more attention it would get from Kespa.

No, that's not what most of us (or at least me) saying we're watching the Korean stream are saying. What we're saying is we'd rather good casters in a language we don't understand to completely green, unexperienced, over-their-head casters in a language we do. No offence to them, and I do believe they will get he hang of it eventually - but they don't have it yet. I would prefer any of the experienced caster pairs to this ATM. EDIT: Removed vitriol.

Paying for it and tuning in sends Kespa the message they haven't completely dropped the ball, which is the opposite of what's going on here.

And are Totalbiscuit and Apollo willing to move to Korea to cast for the next 8 months? Because otherwise we have them casting part time from their homes, which means poor video quality and more frequent technical difficulties, plus substitute casters constantly needing to be found when they're unavailable.

KesPA could just settle with OGN and have DoA and MonteCristo cast all the games, though. Doa is already an established caster and he's very bad anymore. MonteCristo might be new to the game but he still have some experience in casting, plus willing to go into less experience caster role. Judging from the first week feedback, I think they did quite well.

Well that was planned till a couple days before they start Kespa pulled the plug on that on. DoA looked super hyped to cast and made that big proleague thread and then that happened ![]()
