Maybe you haven't noticed, but the players aren't winning this protest. It is pretty clear that they have been losing ever since Trump got involved.
Yes, Trump is winning this so hard he had to send his VP out to a game with the sole purpose of acting offended to remind the 'troops' that they should be offended and not enjoy the game.

Trump clearly is winning. He has co-opted the message and driven a wedge between the players and owners. Like I said when this started, I had serious reservations about what Trump is doing, but I can't argue with the results.
Then the NFL owners should just fire all the people protesting. All the players that make the sport a sport and enjoyable to watch. You know, the darker skinned players. The ones with the highest selling jerseys. The ones who really bring the money in.
Apparently, communist egalitarianism only works in sports that are majority white lol. If the majority of the sport are non-whites, then things are A-OK. Granted, I know it's somewhat tangential to your point, but I just find it funny how much hubbaloo Baseball has been getting these past few years about black #'s meanwhile Baseball is the most diverse sport of the major sports, but then I see posts like this that are so racist it's hilarious.
The reason I bring this up is because NFL is something like 60-70% Black, but Blacks make up 13% of the population, but no one argues to reduce the number of blacks playing, until this silly satirical post, but you don't realize how funny it is when there is non-sense shit about Baseball and it being "racist" because blacks aren't a majority like in the other sports (sans Hockey). (Tl;dr a lot of the "black movement" people are less equality and more domination, just like many feminists are less equality and more misandry/domination)
No need to respond to this if you feel it's too tangential just pointing out cognitive dissonance on both sides.
As for Danglars, lol, man. I tend to remember someone lamenting the IRS targeting political groups, but when the President does the same thing and because it's not you, that's a thing to applaud? Geeze, but I am the crazy libertarian. Carry on :p

No, it's fine. I can answer your post in much fewer words than you took to address my post (which was part tongue in cheek for the reasons you mentioned).
How many black kids you see walking around with a baseball and bat? How many black kids do you see walking around with a basketball or football? There's your answer. Certain sports are held higher than others in communities across the globe. Soccer is the most dominant. Then you get baseball. But in the US, it's basketball and football. I played all sports but my favorite was football.

Right, I'm not disputing that, I'm just saying, all the media outlets talking about how Baseball is racist because black #'s are down and there's only 1 black manager, etc. is fucking silly egalitarianism shit. Funny enough, these same outlets are pretty dang quiet about the other sports when "minorities" are by far the majority. It's why I question the sincerity of this stuff when it comes to sports. It's just the shoe on the other foot.
I don't get how anyone can say that one side is winning or losing yet, we haven't seen what kind of response this memo will generate.
Up until now, I would argue that the protests are doing a fine job. We've got players around the league calling attention to an important issue, and people are listening! Hell, we've got pages upon pages of this thread talking about it!
I live in the philadelphia area and there are a number of events every week (that I hear about on the radio, not there in person) that are meant to facilitate communication and cooperation between police and minority groups. I think we tend not to hear about this side of what's happening because president fuckface and his lackeys are always in the headlines.. but take a look at some of the tangible change! I continue to contend that we are making progress.
All that said, Roger Goodell can get fucked with a rusty chainsaw.
As a guy who has been to a few Red Sox games, baseball is super fucking racist and has a long history of being super fucking racist. We still kick people out of Fenway for yelling racial slurs and it somehow makes headlines like that isn't a thing that should just happen.

Which law is this a victory for the rule of? I ask because you've been a long term proponent of limiting the reach of both the presidency and the "unconstitutional" Supreme Court. Which statutory law was upheld here?
If anything, it simply shows just how big of a bubble all these celebrities live and the people who push this kind of bullshit. Its rather unfortunate that garnering celebrity support is more important than actually understanding why do not share the views in urban cultural centers.

I really don't know what you're talking about, but I like the term "urban cultural centers". I think a lot of people don't understand why they don't share the views of urban cultural centers though.
The reason why Trump won is because he is much more down to Earth than Hillary.
The average people look at Hillary's rallies with the celebrities and they say "Nope, can't relate."
Hillary lost because she was a worse candidate for the time than Trump (and she intentionally elevated Trump thinking she would beat him, along with plenty of other bad choices)

I voted against Trump and I hate Trump, but this kind of arrogance and refusal to empathize with Trump voters by defining them in ways that many of them cannot relate to is just infuriating.

Pretty sure the recipe offered to us was prison and poverty, you suggesting that isn't going to work for white people?
EDIT: It's a diss track it's not supposed to be empathizing with people who think white supremacy is their best option.

Its been a problem in African American communities to, but look what you did "Oh, you think they are just white people problems?" There has been lots of outreaching to so many minority groups, but this demographic has been left behind. Rather than trying to cater to their interests as liberals do to many other groups, they often berate them.

Yeah, I remember the outreach of calling us (children) superpredators and imprisoning vast swaths of our men. All of the people wanting help and empathy now had none then. It's so easy for them to see how it's wrong now that it's being applied to them (except it's not, they are being coddled like sick babies).
If they want the help they need to join the groups that think everyone deserves their rights and humanity, they can't just keep voting for the ones that think only rich white men do and complain when they adhere to their beliefs.

Didn't Hillary call them that? I am not naive about Donald Trump or politics, but one of the biggest demographics that sunk the Bernie campaign were African American voters even though the Clintons created the most horrendous prison laws in recent history. And this is the demographic left behind by NAFTA. These people used to vote Democrat, yes they did not have enlightened social views, but if you expect them to vote for a party that openly gave them the middle finger, then you are outright naive. I am well aware that Trump's policies are going to harm his voter base the most and that voting for this rich white guy is idiotic, but let's not forget the overwhelming support from the African American community for Hillary in the primary.

Yes, I'm pointing out that it's a myth that they cater to our interests.
Bernie was clearly a better option for appealing to the people you're talking about. Fuck the Democratic party as far as I'm concerned. I'm talking about groups that actually want all of us to enjoy our rights and humanity, that ain't the Democratic party (as it has and exists outside of Bernie [sorta]).
Black support of Hillary had a lot to do with her connections with black politicians they helped empower (that often exploited it for their own personal gain) and habitual D voters. It does speak to just how reprehensible the Republican party is to black people though.
Joe Biden was recently reminiscing about the good ol' days when you could argue with segregationists one hour and eat dinner with them (at a segregated club) the next. Trash.
I remember many classes of voters saying "I'm voting Sanders because although the organization that is supposed to represent my interests endorses Hillary, that group does not represent my interests." She has a knack for making friends with those in power, but evidently it only got her past the DNC goalpost.

Last I heard, the Executive Branch is a pretty big arm of the Government. It's one thing to make dumb tweets, but another to use the tax-code as a way to engineer behavior. Surely, you're not in favor of using the Government and the power of taxation to mold citizen behavior and thought no?
