That seems troubling given that there seems to be at least a credible prospect of such a thing occurring, if the National Security Council isn't talking about that then... like what the hell? This surprises you? The head of the government actively denied it happening, ofc they are doing nothing about it.

How he is getting away with this tactic is pretty gross. The committee has no actual power to make him answer questions right? He can bullshit all he wants, they cant stop him from getting away from it.

to be arrogantly dramatic in the question only makes it worse.

But remember there is a secret link between Sessions and Russia as per Comey's testimony. Who knows, maybe the intelligence community cut him from access for a reason?

Rosenstein himself disputes that, and Trump was recorded disputing that, and there are mountains of evidence suggesting the administration praised how Comey handled the emails. That said, it's not a matter of whether it's true, it's whether Republicans can spin it to their base. Which is sadly not a problem. For Session's part, he simply says his opinion was requested, he gave it, then asked for in writing, he provided it. The rest is on Trump. I've caught most of it, and what I've heard has been good. Oh man that Wyden exchange was hilarious.

Edit: still can't believe their argument to fire Comey is that he was unfair to Hillary. Bold doesn't even begin to describe that claim.

But he is leaning on some “long standing” justice department policy he can’t cite or name and has not read to back that up.
