Thats a bold strategy Cotton, lets see if it pays out. He seems to be laboring under the idea that he could be a Trump surrogate one moment and then a Senator the next. And that is true for public appearances, where what he says is recorded and we can judge for ourselves. Not really sure that argument works for private meeting he decided not to tell anyone about when asked.

And saying he's not sure if Kislyak was at the meeting at the Mayflower and if he was if he talked to him is also pretty weak.

EDIT: Sessions is grating because of the constant lies. His accent and honor babble is obviously fake front the entire time. You are a skeptic and that kind of constant BS is unlistenable. EDIT2: Wyden did well here. He baited Sessions back into the letter. The letter that Trump said was BS and didn't contribute to his decision to fire Comey.

They cheer even more when he talks about honor and whatnot. Sessions is not going to say anything of substance unless he slips up again. EDIT: Sessions is grating because of the constant lies. Does his strong emotional reaction when pressed by Wyden count as slipping up? It seemed like Wyden hit a nerve when pressing about why Comey thought Sessions was problematic on the investigation.

That said, it's not a matter of whether it's true, it's whether Republicans can spin it to their base. Which is sadly not a problem.

Sessions is NOW(edit) saying that the Rosenstein memo was the real deal, when we all know Trump fired Comey over the Russia investigation (see Trump's words). Also, there is no mention of a 'fresh start' in the memo. The memo was all about HRC and emails. Of course Sessions is on record praising the HRC and emails investigation last year. Basically Sessions is distancing his opinion that Comey should be fired because he was incompetent and the FBI was in turmoil from Trump's decision to fire him because of the Russia investigation. I'm surprised he didn't jump on the opportunity to say it directly when the senator from Maine asked him. His answer on hypothetical was kinda stupid.

EDIT: So wait, if Holder was wrong to hold back documents ... then how is it right for Sessions? EDIT2: Sessions testified to all of the following things: (1) Russian 2016 hacking/meddling/election attacks did happen (2) As AG, Sessions never received a briefing nor asked for a briefing on the Russian 2016 hacking From the top, the Trump government is dedicated to prevent any investigation into the Russian 2016 hacking.

"I don't have the authority to invoke executive privilege, but it's ok for me to essentially invoke it so that the president can invoke it later if he chooses even though he has decided not to" To be somewhat fair, the current POTUS is exactly the kind of person who would tell you in private he has decided not to invoke executive privilege and then say he told you the opposite once he finds out you said something he doesn't like and then have legions of fans lapping up some bizarre rationalization of how he was right all along and didn't quite say what you thought he said.

That isn’t how executive privilege works...I hate everything that is happening right now. This some Calvinball shit.
