Because if they want a tight frontier they will have to build it alongside the Rio Grande as well which is the physical border between the countries ; and if they do, they will either have to build it on Mexican soil and effectively take the Rio Grande or build it on the US side and give up the river to Mexico despite its incredibly important economical value. Has Trump every acknowledged that he knows the Rio Grande river exists as part of the border? It sounds like a sarcastic question, but I mean that sincerely. The plan for the wall is so half baked, there is no way they have taken that into account. Or the cost of the litigation that will result from them trying to take peoples land to build it. Or the conflicts that would arise if they tried to build it on land owned by Mexico, which would amount to a good old fashion annexation of land.

Trump doesn't really need the wall, though. His supporters are totally satisfied with how distinct he is from Obama.
As I said before, the issue is the approach to immigration. These rural people feel like daddy is paying more attention to the poor mexicans than the poor whites. They feel forgotten and unimportant. Having someone come out and say "yeah, fuck that shit" is already totally acceptable. I imagine if Trump never even starts building the wall, people who immigration is important too would still be totally satisfied.

I love that Trump's camp can't even pull off keeping their stories straight.

That's the link in the tweet Plansix put up.
This is not surprising in the slightest.
Also how dumb do you have to be to contradict yourself on such an important matter? I mean, it's one thing to lie and get caught by someone else. It's quite another to incriminate yourself.

I keep forgetting that TL doesn't include the embedded tweet. And this lines up with every report we have been hearing, the reasons provided by the AG's office were all cooked up as an excuse.
@TheLordofAwesome: Trump is someone that is used to not being held accountable for what he says and being able to settle lawsuits when he is. He does not understand the world of politics or the idea that Congress is the body that is supposed to keep him in check. He believes he is the boss and gets to do whatever he wants.
Edit: Awesome. Now we get healthcare protections revoked and your state best not get hit by a natural disaster, because Trump's White House does not think need help.

Everything else in that dismissal letter (lack of faith in Comey at FBI, assurances that Trump was not under investigation) just got blown out of the water at the Senate hearing this morning.

Still, I'm shocked by the sheer degree of incompetence on display here. One day later, he blatantly, explicitly destroys his entire fabrication.

Don't underestimate the strength of Trump's support still. 8 or 9 people on TL are not a representative sample of the United States.
And proof that he lied can be used against him in the future.

When is the guy actually going to have all this poop hurricane come back to bite him? When is the lying actually not going to be OK?

I cite this a lot, but 40% of the country didn’t want Nixon to be removed from office right up until the end and after. This won’t happen through a single revelation, but through attrition.

this seems like it's not a good sign for GOP
Have Trumps supporters ever actually read an interview with him? because they make no sense

Surprised that Trump would admit that his reasons had to do with the Russia investigation. Hopefully if there's a case against Trump's team, it comes out very soon. Various Twitter sources who have been ahead of the MSM on grand juries (Claude Taylor) are saying that bombs are about to drop. There's no telling what happens if indictments come down on members of Trump's campaign.

Here we go.

Oh I know his support is still going strong among part of the US population. But I wonder, if they still support him after all that has passed in the last 100 days. What would it actually take to lose their support?
A sworn testimony by 'the enemy' is certainly not going to make a dent.

Wasn't North Carolina going for Trump one of the key reasons he won? What a nice way to fuck them as a thank-you. Seriously they asked for close to a billion and they got 6 millions...

Citizen united made this all possible. We used to have a nice, controlled way to fund elections that only lasted a limited period of time. The Government had to fight with the news networks to cover the conventions because the ratings were always bad.
Those were the days. When politics was the boring shit that no one wanted on their TV and candidates needed federal support just to run their bid for president. Now it is just uncontrolled money for god knows where promising god knows what.

Yes. But remember that Bannon and his people don’t think that agencies like FEMA should exist.
