I literally have 0 idea why he would think that.

Probably another smokescreen to distract from all their "winning".

It's Rand Paul whose father is Ron Paul the man who thinks the United States is at fault for the Korean War. Everything is a conspiracy once in a while with that family.

he's probably gotten paranoid while boning up on dystopian novels for the class he's going to teach next semester at GWU on "dystopian visions"
or maybe the NSA spies on everyone

In late November, a member of Donald Trump's transition team approached national security officials in the Obama White House with a curious request: Could the incoming team get a copy of the classified CIA profile on Sergey Kislyak, Russia's ambassador to the United States?
Marshall Billingslea, a former Pentagon and NATO official, wanted the information for his boss, Michael Flynn, who had been tapped by Trump to serve as White House national security adviser. Billingslea knew Flynn would be speaking to Kislyak, according to two former Obama administration officials, and seemed concerned Flynn did not fully understand he was dealing with a man rumored to have ties to Russian intelligence agencies.
...
In the following weeks, the Obama White House would grow deeply distrustful of Trump's dealing with the Kremlin and anxious about his team's ties. The concern — compounded by surge of new intelligence, including evidence of multiple calls, texts and at least one in-person meeting between Flynn and Kislyak — would eventually grow so great Obama advisers delayed telling Trump's team about plans to punish Russia for its election meddling. Obama officials worried the incoming administration might tip off Moscow, according to one Obama adviser.
...
Obama aides described Flynn as notably dismissive of the threat Russia posed to the United States when discussing policy in transition meetings with outgoing national security adviser Susan Rice and other top officials.
Officials also found it curious that Billingslea only ever asked Obama's National Security Council for one classified leadership profile to give to Flynn: the internal document on Kislyak.
...
While it's not inappropriate for someone in Flynn's position to have contact with a diplomat, Obama officials said the frequency of his discussions raised enough red flags that aides discussed the possibility Trump was trying to establish a one-to-one line of communication — a so-called back channel — with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Obama aides say they never determined why Flynn was in close contact with the ambassador.

Republicans acknowledge Trump is using the presidency to increase his personal wealth and his close associates' right?
I mean folks like Danglers and xDaunt don't think this stuff is something other than naked profiteering from the presidency (while president)?

Because that's the one thing that will finally sink Trump. His mocking of whiter-than-white Elizabeth Warren claiming American Indian ancestry (it's in the high cheekbones from self-evaluation, not genealogy) is that step too far. Absurd. And he definitely doesn't need more currency to fight identified and mis-identified grievance peddlers.

^ completely ignoring that the term Pocahontas is being used in a derogatory manner.

It's just her silly thing until Trump picked up on it.

Meh, Warren proved she doesn't really have what it takes to be much more than a somewhat more well-known senator. Her DNC performance showed that overall she was kinda shallow. I hardly care about whether she's Pocahontas or not and I'm not sure who does care besides the "Trump does everything wrong and we need to aggressively note it" crowd.

Why is it that a man working in entertainment has what feels like an actual news program, and our so-called news media feels like a joke in its attempt to feel like entertainment? It just feels so weird when I wonder what series of events must transpire for this switch to take place.

It will be an absolute firestorm for Trump and republicans if even one person is indicted in the trump Russia matter. And it could even be for a relatively low level offense like failing to register as a foreign agent.

Gotta fill that air time, which is why there's god awful shit like the CNN 1 anchor, 4 guest talkathons. It doesn't feel like news. People go there with a message instead of actually having a meaningful discussion.

But your job as a news reporter is to make an as-objective-as-possible statement about known facts of current goings-on, and to state possible conclusions that could be drawn from them. That's it. And that's a job that requires no more than 1 person to talk(actually gathering the sources and checking your facts is another matter of course). My guess is companies/politicians got involved, and big money started flowing in, so they have to fill the airtime with as many panels, 'experts', and guests as possible, which destroys its integrity and focus.
