I openly laughed at the first one.
I actually think it will be good for him, but it comes at the cost of making Pence look bad and Pence is not going to be happy with him for it

If you only listened to the audio you missed Trump being a huge creeper in where/how he stood all night.

This + the Friday comments would make it really hard for me to cope with myself if I were Pence. But I'm not, fortunately.
I also don't get how the splitting with Pence on Pence's long, detailed, thorough Russia policy is good for Trump, could you elaborate? I'm genuinely curious.

He does seem to be back fully on the race though? hes a long long way away from 50% chance of winning the election He went from 19-20% to 23-24% on betting markets. Hillary had a 5-10 point spike after the first debate, don't remember exactly. So yeah he needed to win by more. Betting markets matter less than polling numbers. There are only so many undecided voters left. Plus the RNC isn't really supporting him, which means his ground game on election day could be terrible. These debates have diminishing returns as time goes on. His problem is that his ceiling in debates is 'not imploding', which is fine relative to expectations but not enough to recover as much ground as he needs to. Out of curiosity, what do you think Clinton's ceiling in the debate is? I.e. If Trump needs to not implode, what does Clinton need to do? To bore people by being a policy nerd. She's not particularly charismatic or quick witted, and being so far ahead she doesn't need any haymakers, best thing she can do is use Trump as contrast to show off her competence.

I voted tie and I think I support Hillary more. I think she had better answers when it came to policy and just straight up substance when it comes to ruling the country, but I really disliked her constant fixation on Russia on several topics. I think she brought it up like 3 or 4 times throughout the debate.
Trump was just doing Trump things.
So she kinda did well and then did awful at the same time, which makes it a tie for me.

I think it was very much a gut answer that came across as real and unrehearsed
Basically + points for the humanizes him category as not just being another politician-bot, an area Hillary struggles with
I think it isn't something that is going to hurt him with his supporters at all. Independents? Maybe

Yeah the Red Baiting recently has been terrible. Especially because of how much focus is on Trump alienating minorities in an us vs them mentality. You can't just turn around and do the exact same thing to Russia :/.

What exactly has he even done? I was under the impression he did a lot to get Brexit to pass

If I wanted to photoshop an image to make Trump look ridiculous, I would end up with something like that
