If I gave the kinds of rambling responses during a job interview that Donald Trump did in the debate I would be permanently unemployed

The problem is that the bar was set really, really low by the last debate. He had the upper hand during the first part of the debate because Hillary could never look good in a shit-slinging contest; if she tries to yell over him or get down in the mud, people will just think badly of her, whereas we expect Trump to do it.
Like last time though, Trump continued to look worse and worse as the night went on. His policy answers were awful, he repeatedly demonstrated complete ignorance about how both the government and the economy work, he repeatedly interrupted Clinton and whined and argued with the moderators, he continued to blatantly lie about countless things that can readily be fact-checked, and he almost never answered the question. Hillary took him to town on actual policy-related answers and looked significantly more calm and composed for the entire debate.
First debate: 80:20 Hillary. 2nd Debate: 55:45 Hillary.
I don't think there's a chance in hell that Trump could get a poll bump from this debate. Too many sound bites and pictures that will make him look bad in the next few media cycles, particularly when he said that he hasn't talked to Pence and that he disagrees with him. At absolute best, Trump marginally outperformed Clinton in the eyes of the public, but it will probably be swayed by how the media portrays the debate: there weren't many (if any) really good lines or sound bites digging into Clinton, whereas there were still quite a few that can look bad for Trump. His performance probably looked a lot better to his supporters, but I highly doubt that it would sway any undecided voters. 100% agree with this assessment at this point in the race.

I think I'd say 55:45 Trump. Maybe 60:40. I hope I'm underestimating the American people's ability to critically think and collect information, though. Otherwise I agree.

My favorite part of the debate was the end when Trump said Hillary was tough like a fighter and he respected it and Hillary smiled a genuine smile and it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside that there might be hope for our future it was cute =^.^=

I've given up predicting how people will react to presidential debates. Time to wait for tomorrow's polls.

If you think Trump won that debate, then you're bar for him is set so fucking low that a mouse couldn't squeeze under it.
Regardless, Trump lost the election tonight. The only way he could have won was to absolutely CRUSH this debate, even worse than he lost the first one. He came nowhere close to that. There is no chance this debate, even if you say he won (though more likely it was a tie, or a minor loss for him), the lewd comment tape will crush him a lot more than this might help.
Coupled with the fact that more tapes are supposed to be coming soon, he has no chance. Third debate doesn't matter.

Trump would respond without any substance and turn it into an attack on Hillary. When Hillary had a good response it sounded very strong but she couldn't follow it up with more strong responses. Trump just randomly has strong sentences and then goes back into rambling.
I guess that's a win for Trump? Isn't that just sad?
I think that, at best, it was a draw. Trump just looked so incredibly bad by being incapable of answering the question and constantly bickering with the moderators. That will only appeal to those that already fervently support him.
You think Farage's debate coaching made a difference in this one?
It definitely helped, but Trump is still Trump. The debate went in the exact same trajectory as the previous one, where Trump was calm, quiet, and composed, but became more and more unraveled as time went on. It was just not as extreme this time.

She's a cold shell of a woman who probably hasn't received real appreciation in a long time. That was a sincere compliment.

Why is it a popular term in the Philippines?

He went from 19-20% to 23-24% on betting markets. Hillary had a 5-10 point spike after the first debate, don't remember exactly.
So yeah he needed to win by more.

Well he also said he's going to try to put her in jail if he's elected, so don't get too warm and fuzzy now.

IT WAS SO CUTE THOUGH

Didn't Pence make those Russian comments in the vice presidential debate? I see Trump saying that he disagrees with him as indicative of one of the large problems with his campaign all along, that he barely has any policies outlined.

i remember being disgusted 8 years ago by how much of a shitshow the us presidential debates were
lol

Thinking about it, I can't wrap my head around why Trump didn't just say "fuck it" and agree with Pence. Like, what's the point? He doesn't care about lying or contradicting himself the rest of the time.

There are only so many undecided voters left. Plus the RNC isn't really supporting him, which means his ground game on election day could be terrible. These debates have diminishing returns as time goes on.

Man. Both these choices are gross.
And to think, we had Bernie fuckin' Sanders available as a candidate. FDR of our generation. Thanks establishment for making that option unavailable and fucking that up.
But they would probably prefer Trump over Sanders.

He needs to make up huge ground in the polls. At best, all his performance did was stem the gushing wound that his recording made. He definitely didn't make up any ground in the polls, which look horrendous for him.

Yeah, threatening to jail your political opponent is a good stance to have. Very American.
