I know it's an old story but hearing 'His disparaging remarks about Mexican immigrants are inconsistent with Macy's values' made me laugh hard. Reminded me of 'Do you follow the values of Jesus? Or Buddha? Or Marx?' 'No, I follow the values of the Carphone Warehouse.'

I'm actually kind of surprised that Johnson still has an 7 point lead over Stein in that age bracket, since 18-29 seems like the age range most likely to vote Green and least likely to vote Libertarian.

On some issues, but the same demographic is appalled by the anti-GMO, anti-nuclear power, pro-'alternative' medicine side of the Greens. But the main factor is that Trump loses more votes than Hillary in these polls, it makes sense that those are going to the Libertarians more so than to the Greens.

Johnson is playing to lefties as well, don't forget that. Trying his hardest.
Edit: last part is sarcastic. He doesn't seem to be trying at all, beyond his attempts to appeal to Sanders types.

Trust me, young people are by far the most likely to vote Libertarian. Green as well, but those are very different young people.

The question is : would they have endorsed a Ted Cruz, and if so why ?

The backlash against Donald Trump escalated on Thursday as angry US military veterans arrived on Capitol Hill urging Republican leaders to withdraw their support for the party’s nominee.
The protest came after a torrid week for the maverick candidate, whose criticism of Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the parents of an American Muslim soldier killed in Iraq in 2004, triggered a Republican revolt.
The veterans presented a petition on Thursday to the office of Senator John McCain , a Vietnam war veteran and former prisoner of war who was the Republican presidential nominee in 2008. McCain joined the condemnation of Trump this week, but stopped short of withdrawing his endorsement of him.
“Donald Trump and his surrogates have demonstrated that their bigotry and hate speech know no bounds,” Nate Terani, the first Muslim American to serve in the US Navy Presidential Honor Guard, told reporters. “Donald Trump is a racist and bigot and wholly unfit for this position.”
Terani and other veterans gathered under trees on a lawn outside the US Capitol building, urged McCain to put country before party and “unendorse” the nominee. They said their petition had more than 100,000 names in less than a day, including veterans, their families and ordinary voters.

At this point, Trump might just drop.

George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin in 2012, claims he was punched by a man in a Sanford, Fla., restaurant over the weekend.
Zimmerman was allegedly bragging about the incident when a man punched him, officials said, according to local news station WFTV.
In a 911 call, Zimmerman alleged that he was explaining to people at a table that he shot Trayvon Martin in self-defense when a large man approached him. “He recognized me,” Zimmerman said. “He told me he was going to kill me he told me he’d [expletive] shoot me and he punched me in the face.”
Zimmerman told 911 operators that the man said “You’re bragging about that?” before punching him, according to WFTV.
The death of 17-year-old Martin, and Zimmerman’s later acquittal, sparked nationwide outrage over the case, which saw Zimmerman employing Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law to his benefit. The Black Lives Matter movement spawned out of the aftermath of the trial.
Other witnesses inside the restaurant disagreed with Zimmerman’s account, according to WFTV, telling officials that the incident started when he bragged about killing Martin.
Zimmerman could not immediately be reached for comment. Source

I think the way someone acts after being acquitted is a good indication of whether or not they were the shitty person in that case. Zimmerman seems to be quite shitty to be sure.

The crazy base isn't enough to win him the election - he needs centrist/classic Republicans and, as much as they hate the Clintons, he won't get them if Gingrich/McCain/Ryan/etc. turn on him.

"The last week should have made obvious to all what has been obvious to most for more than a year. In response to any slight –perceived or real– Donald Trump lashes out viciously and irresponsibly. In Trump’s eyes, disagreement with his actions or his policies warrants incessant name calling and derision: stupid, lying, fat, ugly, weak, failing, idiot –and that’s just his “fellow” Republicans.
He isn’t eschewing political correctness. He is eschewing basic human decency."
