I mean you can't really expect to fling shit around, and not expect to get hit back by it. That being said, the whole Megyn Kelly thing worked out from Trump, politically, pretty good.

Pretty sure multiple posters just defended those Trump quotes. Which tells you something about those posters, because the quotes are self-explanatory, there's no misinterpreting them. Hopefully, for the good of mankind, there are not enough voters similar to these posters who will vote for Trump on Nov 6.

You posted some quotes, we gave rational explanations, and now you fuck off as if you've the higher ground in this argument.
I'm seeing more and more people come out of the woodwork. Actually surprised to see the substantial amount of support Trump has on a college campus.

Did anyone in the media pick trump to do this well from the start?

Those are the kinds of people that normal people worry about, and that most people accuse all Trump supporters of being similar to. People who think that that's an appropriate thing to say in a professional setting for the most important job in the world, and who just write it (and everything else that Trump says) off as simply "politically incorrect" instead of pathetic and immature and tactless.

That's still no excuse. Megyn Kelly didn't take cheap shots against Trump like that. She asked him to defend his misogynistic rhetoric by just quoting him... boo hoo.

And I wouldn't associate with a person like that. I think the term bigot is a very improper use of word for Trump supporters. I think the "silent majority" of Trump supporters are the ones who kept quiet and lived in a society with completely different opinions that them, and now they are speaking up, to have their opinions heard. A lot of Trump supporters I know back in Canada are some of the most open-minded people I know, the "bigots" (I hate that word,close-minded) ones are the ones that believe Trump would destroy America after seeing him portrayed by the media for 5 minutes. I think you and I have profoundly different ideas of what open-minded means... and please, Trump's "portrayal" in the media? The man has said a lot of things, you can watch entire entire debates for hours where he piles on shit, much of it "open minded" people would at least be highly skeptical of and would then understand to be the bullshit that it is. -Build a wall and make Mexico pay. Ridiculous and not open minded -Close the border on religious grounds. Probably some sort of unconstitutional, close minded, ridiculous, and hateful -Global warming... come on etc. A priori I just don't believe what you said. I don't think there are very many open minded people who support Trump. I'm sure there are a few, but it's because they somehow manage to compartimentalize. Their dislike of establishment somehow supersedes the insane stuff Trump has said, his haughty ridiculous attitude that's horrible in a real leader, his constant barrage of deceit or misinformed BS. The whole world is watching in disgust, even the shit leaders from other countries like David Cameron frown at this man -_-. To me I think the US stands to lose a lot in this election. So if I'm not to use the term bigot, I still say there's something profoundly wrong with people who support a man that is so divisive and goes against decades of social progress. Anti-establishment is nice and all but wow, the sacrifices these people are willing to make? Incredible. Let's just say it's not a coincidence Trump is getting the endorsement of some bad and very radical people. Much of his discourse is bad and radical and yet people are either down with that or willing to let it slide even though it's not a detail to be glossed over.
There's a lot wrong with Trump, every Trump supporter knows this, that said:
If you're bored and you'd like to read a list of reasons why people vote Trump, maybe you'd like to look here, potentially a couple might resonate with you:

Yes, Trump lies and Trump says things that are impossible to fulfill, but I think he is a leader the US could use. The western world doesn't like Putin, but he brings pride to the Russian people, they feel empowered and united, conflicts like Crimea achieve a lot the morale of a country. I like that Trump is decisive and is able to talk in absolutes instead of making conflicts out of nothing because people are getting their feeling hurt (having to have 50 different terms for sexuality), I like how Trump has a set in stone belief system (I think some of the political stuff is an act to get votes).
When I've looked at the US in the course of my lifetime, never have I been jealous of the US people, and maybe it's nostalgia, but I don't think that the US was the laughing stock of the world in the 60s and 70s. If I was a US citizen I'd feel like I'm helpless, and the entire world is just going to consume up. Spend some money on this war here, on this one here, get a 4 year college degree, work and live a life where I have to take transit to work, little pride in what you do, massive bureaucracy in everything, and meanwhile the discussion is about all these things that I don't care about, like getting equal representation in engineering, building genderfluid bathrooms, not offending peoples feeling here and there...
For reference, I'm from Alberta, where a very socialist party has recently been elected, whereas before we've had a very conservative government.
Anyway, with Trump it just feels like to me, the mood would be "who the fuck cares, we're all Americans, we are all friend, lets stop dividing each other, stop trying to make new terms for gender, stop trying to very indirectly persuade people to act in certain ways, stop trying to make insanely complex policy to achieve some goal... And lets just say we're going to do something and do it, to build up America and feel proud of who we are, to do things not out of obligation, but out of desire, to make us feel like winners again (I'm not saying USA isn't, but I don't think most Americans feel like winners)."
Anyway, the US has 3 levels of government, and I think the risk of giving him four years isn't so bad, but I think the benefit can be enormous.
edit: Apologies for the incoherent writing, tired and just not spending enough time formulating my thoughts. I just wanted to add that if I look 30 years down the road, I don't like where the world is heading, and I don't know whether Trump is the answer, but I want something to change. Once democracy picks up momentum, it becomes this unstoppable force, and I don't know the next time there will be an opportunity to channel the distaste for the current system. I'm an engineer, logic and reason is the foundation of my thinking, but logic and reason is also the foundation of the thinking of machines, but I don't think logic and reason work when dealing with peoples' emotions (I am a hard-agnostic).

It just broke my heart. One of them in particular, I won't say which... I liked the guy, I liked some of his posts. And now he posts this and it just broke me... Like, the vitriol, the fucking hate is too much. You have otherwise reasonable people who've gone full out crazy.
I think this whole thing around Trump is a profoundly sad state of affairs. The anti-establishment I can understand. But the lack of concern for other people, the hate... Sick fucking shit.

In that case he would be on the defensive and Megyn Kelly would be dominating the conversation. Instead by making those remarks he took control of the conversation which allowed him to paint himself in the best possible light.
