How do you know it's misinformation or irrational and illogical hate? You don't know what's in it.
And if you do know, then you've just admitted to breaching national security.
I know it's misinformation because it some claimed things were true that they didn't know about the bill, or that are simply untrue as matters of general principle. It's not that hard to detect irrational and illogicality in politics, there's lots of it It is also easy for me to see when politicians are just being pandering politicians, rather than going for sound policy. It's also easy to compare to the NUMEROUS existing deals which are built in the same way as this one is being built.
The organization cited by screaming, looks, at a cursory analysis, to be one of those spreading nonsense and irrationality.
I suppose there are those that dismiss Nader's work as nonsense and irrational lol. Feel free to peruse the sourced document and pick it apart though if you think it's bogus- or irrational and illogical to assume precedence of course!
I've already read many of those cases and the rebuttals, sources, and counterclaims; I'm not interested in doing so again because someone else on the internet disagrees. Also, I NEVER said the TPP doesn't have flaws or issues; I said there was a bunch of nonsense and misinformation around it.

It's not a done deal yet, but it was a loss for American labor for sure. What did pass though means that we will have the text for 60 days before congress can vote to pass it.
Thanks for the info. I don't understand why this deal is so shady. How come congress couldn't see the deal before hand and why the 60 day crunch? Is it true if companies lose profit due to government regulations then they will be refunded?
Only if the regulations are ruled to be discriminatory towards foreigners.
Edit: that's how the TTIP is being phrased which is modeled off of other trade deals. They're all pretty standard, really.
In a landmark opinion, the Supreme Court ruled Friday that states cannot ban same-sex marriage, handing gay rights advocates their biggest victory yet.
The 5-4 ruling had Justice Anthony Kennedy writing for the majority, with the four liberal justices. Each of the four conservative justices wrote their own dissent.
Most shocking thing about it is that its actually a 5-4 ruling.
America still has a long way to go ><
Oh fuck off and be happy it's done. It's nine old fucks in a job given for life; about as conservative a voting pool as could be found. We moved about as fast as Europe on this, and now we're done before you are even close. Enough of the condescension. Yeesh.
Anyway, a great day nonetheless. I got visibly happy at work today when I got the news, but decided against explaining the whole thing to the kids I teach so I wouldn't have a million angry parents calling asking what kind of a church program we run, leaving me only to answer "Presbyterian, motherfuckers." (Which isn't a great catchphrase, really, and would kinda piss off the Catholics who send their kids to our program. "Yes Ignacio, actually God is okay with condoms AND gay people.")
Congratulations to all who worked so hard to see this through.

You realize that the Netherlands was the first country to legalize gay marriage, 14 years ago, right?

A woman scaled a flagpole in front of the South Carolina Statehouse on Saturday morning and removed the Confederate battle flag.
The woman was identified as “Bree” in a news release by activist group Blackbird, an organization that was helping out with press but did not facilitate the event itself. She did not act alone, but was part of a larger group of activists who wanted to see the flag come down. Bree is black, but the group she was part of is multiracial, according to the release.
"We removed the flag today because we can't wait any longer,” Bree said in a statement. “We can't continue like this another day. It's time for a new chapter where we are sincere about dismantling white supremacy and building toward true racial justice and equality.”
The woman made it about halfway up the pole when authorities commanded her to come down, but she continued to go up and remove the flag, which was padlocked in place. She was arrested, along with a man and a woman who accompanied her to the Statehouse grounds in Columbia.

There is no red in that picture whereas EU has a ton of red in it so I would the job is mostly finished with a few areas still just not performing them but recognizing them.
Edit: I do see some islands that are basically the size of my foot have it banned but I do not stress out over places that are the size of Rhode Island.

James Goldsmith's criticism of GATT back in the 90s is still relevant today when talking about TPP. We've done this before and we know what happens. Easy to predict that the next serious financial crisis will be exacerbated by TPP.

To be clear, when I say Europe, I mean EU. The US has no linked legislative or judicial powers with any other state in its continent except Puerto Rico. 28 European states do have common legislative and judicial powers. Your votes in EU elections help to govern every part of them, as my votes in federal elections help to govern the most benighted corners of my political union. Moreover, small states and large states have different issues, and the US's problems look a lot more like the EU's problems than they do like Italy or Denmark or Poland's problems. Not identical mind you, but more on the same level.
But again, it's a stupid pissing contest that we are far better to do away with, which was my original point; get rid of the condescension and work together, be happy together. We should simply count it a victory when Germany joins us on this, and celebrate without trying to measure dicks against anybody for how fast everybody got it done.

In fact, this whole week has been historically positive for us
Texas Pastor Now Says He Didn't Mean He'd Really Set Himself Aflame He threatened to become a human torch if the Supreme Court ruled in favor of marriage equality. Now Pastor Rick Scarborough is clarifying his remarks.
Put away the marshmallows.
Texas Pastor Rick Scarborough issued a statement clarifying his statement that he would be willing to set himself on fire in his fight against gay rights, now declaring, "We do not support any violence or physical harm.” .
The antigay clergyman from Pearland, Tx., made the remark to right-wing preacher E.W. Jackson in a recorded conference call with supporters on June 16:
“We are not going to bow, we are not going to bend, and if necessary we will burn.”
Although it was not clear at the time whether Scarborough meant those words to be taken literally or figuratively, the fiery pastor issued a statement to KFYO News several hours after the high court issued its ruling Friday morning, walking back his remarks to clarify he was not planning a self-immolation.
ADVERTISING “I made that comment to paraphrase a spiritual song, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in which the three were given a choice—to bow to the image of Nebucahdnezzar or burn in a furnace,” said Scarborough.”‘We will burn’ means that we will accept any sanction from the government for resisting [Friday's] Supreme Court decision. We do not support any violence or physical harm.”
Scarborough previously made headlines with a full-page newspaper ad announcing that he had tens of thousands of followers, including presidential hopefuls Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum, who pledged to go to jail to defend so-called traditional marriage.
The Advocate has attempted to reach Scarborough for comment through his group, Vision America, which describes its mission on its website as trying “to inform, encourage and mobilize pastors and their congregations to be proactive in restoring Judeo-Christian values to the moral and civic framework in their communities, states, and our nation.”
Our calls have not been returned. Scarborough did not clarify another controversial offer he made, first reported by Right Wing Watch, that he would volunteer to say, "Shoot me first," if pro-marriage supporters threatened "ordinary citizens" because of their opposition to equality.
