Mvp was stripped of his four GSL titles, and banned for life from the sport, after GOMTV agreed to the harsh measures on Thursday following a report from the ESF that accused him of leading a massive doping program.
GOMTV stripped the disgraced pro gamer of his 4 individual GSL titles Thursday and banned him for life, even as his legal and financial problems mounted.
The governing body of the GSL agreed to accept the ESF's findings of “overwhelming” evidence that Mvp was involved in “the most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program” in the history of eSports.
“Mvp has no place in eSports, and he deserves to be forgotten in eSports,” Mr. Chae, Starcraft 2 Manager for GOMTV, said at a news conference in Seoul.
Chae’s comment confirmed that the organization had accepted the ESF's report on Mvp and would not appeal to the Court of Arbitration for eSports. The result is a devastating indictment of one of the most iconic athletes in eSports history.
“This is a landmark day for eSports,” Chae added.
Publicly, at least, Mvp remained silent Thursday. But he was spotted on a walk outside the GOMTV studios drinking a Dr. Pepper, possibly as a snub to Pepsi, a sponsor of GOMTV and Coca-Cola, a sponsor of the team who recently dropped him.
GOMTV E-Sports Department Director Oh Joo Yang said the Tour will now officially remove Mvp’s name from the record books, erasing his record breaking victories from 2011 to 2012.

The sweet taste of victory, now a bittersweet kiss good bye.
