I bet Apollo would win that, with Artosis second. Unless Tasteless is secretly really good at this game.

Rotti and MrBitter are pretty good too ~ But yea no way a tournament like that would happen unless someone actually threw a bunch of cash at it. These guys are traveling to huge tournaments every week. Even if they wanted to waste time on a tournament like that, it wouldn't be possible.

I'm very sceptical of casters claiming to be of a certain playing level without being willing to show it; especially when their casting makes you doubt that because of the knowledge they show with their casts. Above anything else Day9's claim to have 3 seperate accounts in Grand Master seems to be fishy: where the hell would he get the time from? I remember Apollo stating in his Teamliquid MLG Arena interview that he was trying to make GrandMaster but that he just lacks the time. From a raw talent level I'd set the same at the same level (if nto Apollo higher, him being a WCG Champion in another RTS Title) but if he lacks the time to get even one account in GM, how can another caster find the time to get three accounts there? Day 9 doesn't keep 3 accounts in grandmasters at all times. He simply has had an account of each race in Grandmasters at some time (basically a direct quote from a day 9 daily) As far as casters touting their play and not being willing to show it. I've not seen one caster brag about their ability in the way you make it seem. Casters simply make an off-hand comment about the truth (their ladder ranking). Tasteless plays SC2 because he likes to, not because he cares what anyone thinks of his ranking. Some casters should be embarrassed about their rankings but tasteless doesn't need to be, and even if he had reason to be embarrassed, he never asked for a spotlight on his play, he never claimed he was anything special. Anyway, I think you're just trying to stir something up. You really have no reason to doubt casters one way or another. They are there to enhance the games, not to play the games. As I've said, I don't see casters claiming much about their play, typically when they comment it's to say how bad they really are. I'm a bit SKEPTICAL of people who can't even SEPARATE real words from well groupings of letters that aren't words... I bet whoever had played with the most dedication in the past month would win. And I would bet that most of the time that would be Artosis.

Imagine DjWheat vs JP with someone like Catz and Axslav casting... just to be random... talk about turning the tables. Pure gold.

He LOVES this game, it's a life passion. Do you honestly think he wouldn't play? I think you are wrong here. He loves/loved Brood War and that game was his life passion. The only reason he cast SC2 is because GOM went to SC2 right away and with all the hype and the money in the foreign scene he just rides it out. Because let's be serious here, his only value is in SC2 right now because of the "Tastosis, the casting archon" and his legacy from Brood War. Didn't he quit college to cast BW in Korea? What else is he gonna do if not sc2? And no matter how much Tasteless, Artosis and other people like to joke about "Tasteless lost his passion!!!" you can clearly see it's true. His sc2 casting is so fucking bad compared to BW that it isn't even funny. If he would really have a passion for sc2 and play it on a regular basis I would be very very shocked tbh. But this we will never know, unless he have the balls to be honest enough on a show like "real talk with JP". But answering a question like this would probably hurt his brand if it wasn't positive-SC2 so.. hm yeah.

Day9 Was a pan American Champion and WCG national Champion In BW, its not like hes lacking the tools. He was hailed before he went slightly inactive as one of the best foreigners in the world, right along with Ret, Idra and NonY. Raw Talent is not an issue, and hes certainly more skilled then Apollo considering how much more mechanically challenging BW was in comparison to CnC3. Also he never said he maintained 3 accounts in GM, he merely said he hit GM with three different accounts which for a top BW player is not incredibly hard.

I doubt it'll happend since I doubt the casters want to do it. Maybe a showmatch could be sorted.

Also he hit GM on the NA server, and not to hate on NA scene but that server is alot easier than Europe, therefore I can see why Apollo never did. Also Day9 is probably just a better rts player. Offtopic, how cool would it be if he tried to be semi pro and compete in small online cups (Day9 but that could apply to any caster for that matter)

The above quotes pain me greatly, and are possibly the worst side effect of reading teamliquid ever. Can I get some more info on this? It's hard to search through ITG episodes.

I don't think Rotti was working with much outside of here-say, but I imagine he has more insight into the other casters skill levels than we do. As far as Tasteless goes, I honestly don't care about whether or not he maintains a high level of play in SC2. Him, DjWheat, TB, etc are all PURE casters at this point in time. They don't make their money analyzing players at the highest level, they are there too fill space with their banter that most love. That aside, I am sure Tasteless would be masters league if he was/is playing ladder.
