No, not at all.
No one anywhere would get away with being openly racist like Destiny has done on multiple occassions. The only people who think it's acceptable behavior are people who are either too young to have experienced the adult world or too sheltered/anti-social to go out and see the world.
Having no personality has nothing to do with it, it's about being politically correct. That's usually a negative term, but honestly when it comes to racism/sexism/etc I agree with being politically correct. It's not difficult, it saves a ton of problems, and it's a matter of respect for others.
You guys really are taking a pleasure thrasing "the community" and TL when honestly this is a no brainer. If you were in the real world, there wouldn't even be a question. He would've been instantly fired on the spot. Actually, he would never have gotten popular : he would've gotten fired a long time ago.
Stop trying to defend unacceptable behavior. This is a UNIVERSALLY unacceptable type of behavior.

Good luck to both Quantic and Destiny in their futures. Sounds like a complicated situation. Too bad it had to end

He doesn't think he did anything wrong so why would he apologize?
What he needs to do is get it through his head that insulting people by throwing racial slurs at them is not a nice thing to be doing and his twisted attempts at justifying it fall completely flat.

Well good job WARDENSC2, I hope you are happy now, go celebrate it.

Seems like we're starting to go down that road as well... I watch a lot of Koreans with personality. It's all about perspective.
I think so as well, hence the double ". However, a lot of people still find Koreans (except MC) boring unlike the colourful Destiny, like him or hate him.
I just think it's sad and scary that butthurt people on the internet can wage their personal little crusade against players and indirectly teams and actually accomplish something.
Edit @Kurr I'm not saying that it's okay to be a racists. I'm talking about how okay it is for some random ladder guy to have the power to make teams drop players.

Ok, this is dangerous ground. I will try to carefully place this post in here and then get out of here like a DT:
Anything else but them parting ways would have been a big surprise. It's better for Quantic and for Destiny (according to him).

Well I hope the mods still feel keeping that thread open for so long was a good idea. I get that people are offended by certain words, but labeling people racisrt or trying to ruin their career over it is just ridiculous. Fundamental attribution error states that we attribute behavior to the character of people even though the environment is the true factor. The guy was pissed off from laddering with cheesing assholes so he blew up. He is not racist, he is just pissed off and human. I don't think his choice of words was that great but to label him as racist and consciously try to ruin his career is just cruel.

I couldn't agree more. I am shocked at the number of people who want this behavior to be accepted by the rest of us.

Destiny is mostly harmless however it was inevitable the scene would start 'cleaning up' as it becomes bigger and more mainstream. Those that do not get this will unfortunately have heat put upon them as Orb/Destiny have.
Now many in the community will not like the cleaning up as they are of student age or of a 'rage against the machine' type mentality or both (I know this is a sweeping statement). Nothing wrong with that however it wont bring in sponsors or mainstream acceptance. The vast Majority of people in positions of influence want that mainstream acceptance as it means wider much larger audiences and of course more money.
I do not follow the LoL scene...anyone care to advise how they are 'growing up' as eSports broadens its appeal?

Destiny throws racial slurs at people on ladder.
Quantic fires Destiny.
Not complicated.

Is there much point in calling a person a gook faggot nigger? Yeah sure, free speech, you piss a bunch of people including your sponsors off. Just because you can exercise your freedom doesn't mean you have to.

Good for both parties. It's all about the fans, so let the fans choose.

This community is getting more and more disappointing. Forcing people out like this is worse than what he did, IMO.

I have lost so much faith in this community, you little kids need to grpw a damn spine. Destiny never claimed to be a public figure, I dont like the guy so I dont watch his stream. Is it that hard?
I doubt most of you have actually had to deal with racism growing up, yup I have. I can promise you Destiny is FAR from racist. Also the fuck is wrong with the tl mods? You guys jumped on destiny by insulting him... Also why the fuck didnt tl close the thread, let that shit stay in reddit.

On the other hand it is starting to hurt everyone else, first Orb drama, now this, it's just a matter of time until next one comes up. This shit needs to stop, if not from stupid whiny drama looking kids than from teams and sponsors. The internet is the internet, you have to notice that the professionalism you're reffering to, is non-existant and non-achievable on the internet. Do you realize that most of players said some stupid shit at least one time? Do you really want to commit to something ridiculous like this? Punishing everyone of them for it, in this day and age, when on the internet I see 95% of people acting worse than that? Who the fu** is throwing the first stone? It's impossible to get offended by stuff like this in 2012 when in every game I play I see only one angrier person than another, BMing eachother. Everyone who has been on the internet for 15 minutes and owns a brain knows that. What I see happening seems to me like next level BM of one more angrier guy. And I bet that right now, the next drama troll, is sitting in his cave already, watching replays, and looking for the next target. Someone has to find a way to fight this, because frankly it will eventually became like this: 1st guy will message sponsor that he won't buy his stuff, because he said "fag" on stream. Team will fire him or whatever, and then the 2nd guy will be like: Hey I liked this player, you're not supporting him anymore? Well then fu and your product. Do you really want this vicious circle to destroy every person who said stupid shit? Think about that. Because eventually there won't be anyone left. 99.9 percent of the population wouldn't say any of these comments in a public place because it is common sense. It's the same mindset with ppl on social media where they post pictures of themselves smoking bongs or robbing a house. The internet is watching you and unless your 13, they know its wrong and immature to use that type of language in a professional setting. Yes, streaming for money is a professional setting.
Dude, wtf. 99.9%? Internet is flooded with stupid pictures, stupid videos, fails/mistakes of politicians, stars, journalists, public figures etc. + Casting MLG or whatever would be a professional setting. Streaming? Not rly.

Very mature decision by Destiny, will probably gain him some more fans because of this I believe.

Oh well, GL to Destiny. Thanks for keep being himself and actually do have a very valid, strong argument to back himself up rather than saying out racist terms mindlessly.
Thanks for the team for supporting him as well.
And be careful every progamer, you'd better watch your back whenever you stream. Next thing that people start to feel unacceptable could be as simple as a "fucker"
