There are hundreds of other words that Destiny could have chosen in this context to convey the exact same meaning yet he chose to use a racist word. Whether he was trying to be racist or not is irrelevent. That said, I used to watch Destiny a long time ago but that was before real pro players started streaming. In fact, after this post im going to go watch an actual quality stream like Polt or MC. I'm not white, so I can't be racist. Impossible. Destiny also is only half white , so it's impossible

I know you are right with this, but I feel like destiny especially is more an entertainer then a pro player, and its his persona to say whats on his mind and not be politically correct and he makes it work for his viewers. If someone like Naniwa would insult other koreans on korean ladder as gooks I would find that to be more offensive, because he is a player that plays at the absolute top and for the win all the time and I would consider him a pro more than destiny, although they both get paid for representing a brand. I just feel like complaining about profanity on destinys stream is like going to a katt williams show and be offended by his use of words. You knew what you were getting into.

I just feel like complaining about profanity on destinys stream is like going to a katt williams show and be offended by his use of words. I don't know who Katt Williams is but I'm pretty sure he doesn't call people who beat him in a game on stage with thousands of people watching 'niggers' or 'gooks'.

Destiny's language offended their sweat shop workers I guess.

I personally do think that Destiny is just a clown (professionally speaking) wherein he says insulting things in order to get people angry. But he was in a pro team, going to tournaments, and even teaching SC2 to newer players for a fee. So he's not really doing clown like things--he seems to legitimately think that he is a pro player. And hence, he deserves the charges slammed against him.

And stupid Quantic, because they should've thought about it better, why would you want a horde of fanbois set in the same mould as their hero Destiny. I didn't think anything of them before this but not anymore. Lastly, his hipocrisy sickens me. You guys say he's aint toxic, what is this shit that he spreads? Report to razor? Hope the people there are smart enough to disregard his stupid fanboys. I'm no prude, but to his sponsors such inflammatory comments are really out of order, no two ways about it. We can't have a horde of children emulating him and stirring up shit (doesn't really hurt anyone to be fair but give the community a bad name) Civility should take precedence over free speech. People have their differences, it's not worth starting a fight about, you can't change jack shit. I blame the constitution but this post is opinion in and of itself so fuck me.

Why do you insult a person by calling them a piece of shit? It's because shit is an extremely undesirable thing for a person to be compared to, hence it being insulting. This is true of every insult, you are calling someone something negative and undesirable or at least something that was considered to be negative and undesirable at the time the word was popularized, that's what makes them insults. It's like when you call someone a faggot. Whatever you choose to believe the fact is that in modern usage the word faggot is a derogatory term for a homosexual. When you try to insult someone and your word of choice to do so is "faggot", the implication there is that homosexuality is a negative and undesirable attribute. That's looking at context. If he congratulated a friend by saying "Great job gook!" then talking about context would be a defense. But he didn't, he insulted a guy on ladder by calling him a gook. I'm looking at the context, and that is an absolutely disgusting thing to say. If there is nothing wrong with being asian then why are you trying to insult someone by using a word that is a derogatory term for asian people? It's not insulting then.

Because he thinks there's no difference between calling someone a cheater and calling them asian, because obviously asians are cheaters too (according to that mindset). How did you come to that conclusion?

On the other hand it is starting to hurt everyone else, first Orb drama, now this, it's just a matter of time until next one comes up. This shit needs to stop, if not from stupid whiny drama looking kids than from teams and sponsors. The internet is the internet, you have to notice that the professionalism you're reffering to, is non-existant and non-achievable on the internet. Do you realize that most of players said some stupid shit at least one time? Do you really want to commit to something ridiculous like this? Punishing everyone of them for it, in this day and age, when on the internet I see 95% of people acting worse than that? Who the fu** is throwing the first stone? It's impossible to get offended by stuff like this in 2012 when in every game I play I see only one angrier person than another, BMing eachother. Everyone who has been on the internet for 15 minutes and owns a brain knows that. What I see happening seems to me like next level BM of one more angrier guy. And I bet that right now, the next drama troll, is sitting in his cave already, watching replays, and looking for the next target. Someone has to find a way to fight this, because frankly it will eventually became like this: 1st guy will message sponsor that he won't buy his stuff, because he said "fag" on stream. Team will fire him or whatever, and then the 2nd guy will be like: Hey I liked this player, you're not supporting him anymore? Well then fu and your product. Do you really want this vicious circle to destroy every person who said stupid shit? Think about that. Because eventually there won't be anyone left.

Just because you're gay, doesn't make you a faggot. Faggot very much is a general insult now. It's been pretty much warped down by now.
