Razer is not going to damage itself over this, that'd be bad business. Contacting them is not going to kill esports. Like people have said though, this sort of behavior being picked up on by a major publication or something of that ilk will actually do terrible terrible damage. If I am Razer, I'd be much closer to (A) than (B). No reason to hang around this scene if I have to dealt with this shit on weekly basis. if you have to deal with this "shit" on a weekly basis something is inherently wrong with said community/game and is not worthy of recieving sponsorship money at this time. Bingo. People on this site who think esports is mature enough to go mainstream need to take a long, hard look at who they associate with.

And from this thread and the stupid witch hunts that are created here I really do wonder why Razer haven't ditched the community yet

So when you see people like MKP sit in the booth and cry after a loss, they shouldn't be doing that? Destiny is expressing his displeasure in a different way. If the original poster really got offended over what some one on the internet said to him, he needs to take a step back and examine his life. The problem isn't with Destiny, it's with him.

I also heard Destiny went to bed with a woman before wedlock!
Email the sponsors! Give this adulterous knave his due justice!

I won't stop till something is done about this kid, finally. A lot of us been fed up with this guy for a long time. Lol if you don't like it, don't watch. Its so simple! I don't watch, ever . LOL who said i watch him? So why do you care so much, why have you been "fed up with him for such a long time'? If someone used racist terms in RL you probably wouldn't do a damn thing, but someone says gook in a video game and suddenly you think something must be done and his career must end. Strong priorities in TL kids. How come orb's career got ruined for 1 thing? Why shouldn't this be applied to Destiny? How come Destiny's career is okay? Why is orb's ruined?
When Orb was a popular caster, a random screenshot came up of him being racist. It was brought up to Orb who denied it multiple times claiming that it was a fake but in actuality was his real account. Eventually it escalated to the point where people were actively looking out for his accounts of racism and found tons of evidence. He then admitted that he was lying and stepped down.

coming from an FPS background, one thing that drew me towards starcraft was the amount of respect players had for one another. "gl hf, gg" was something you rarely saw. This game and its community is classier then Destiny's comments and actions.

The orb witchhunt was 99% people saying "black people should be offended by the word nigger, therefore I am going to join the hunt! Now where did I leave that pitchfork? And where's my torch?" Absolutely fucking ridiculous how people will do their best to fuck someone else in the ass when they really aren't affected by what happens in any way what so ever. That may be true, but it has no bearing on the validity of Orb's firing. The "witch hunt" wasn't the one making the decisions.

The fact that there is always ~3,000 viewers for his stream, even though he is a low/mid-tier pro at best, is a testament to the fact that some people actually like his crude brand of humor. Let them have it. This exactly. I always thought it was funny how some of these streamers that are top tier players get less then 1k viewers. Look at Axslav for example. He isn't top tier just yet, but he's getting there. He explains exactly why he is doing things, why he lost and what exactly he is scouting/looking for and how exactly he plans on countering it. He is probably one of the more influential players out there for Protoss players. But now how many viewers does he get? I don't think I've ever seen him get over 1k viewers. Which is a shame since he is one of the better streamers out there.
People like personality, that's a fact of life.
Idra rages and Stephano is known for being arrogant, both of them enjoy huge popularity when compared to equally skilled Korean Zergs.

You're allowed to have emotions. Being upset is fine, but taking your frustration out on other people is not.

It's funny - you would think that people arguing for Destiny's waterboarding wouldn't need to ad hominim everyone else to prove their point. Weirdly enough, people on both sides of the debate seem equally offensive in their debate tactics.

I'm cracking up at this sponsorship email talk. I don't watch Destiny that often, but I'll tell you what. If by small chance Destiny loses a sponsor over this exact complaint/thread, I will paypal him $100. You can QFT this, Destiny. This witch hunt is so useless.

Razer is in the scene because they sell gaming hardware, duh... Where else should they advertise if not here ?

A decision was made based on the witch hunt, though. If no one had cared, orb would still be with EG.

I really don't understand why if somebody says "hey, this is offensive, could you please stop?" the most common response from people like Destiny is "fuck you I can say what I want!" Sure, you have the right to say those things (in some countries), but if it's offending people, why would you?
Is saying things like "faggot," "gook," and "nigger" so essential to what you have to say that you can't live without these words? Is using these slurs more important to you than upsetting or offending people? Or are you being contrarian just for the sake of it?
I don't get it.

The offending party is Destiny and he's responded quite a bit so far. And this really is one of those places I disagree with Alex/iNcontroL. If ya'll really do live and die by the same sponsors, shouldn't you be policing each other better? I mean, if Destiny's poor behavior hurts other players, why aren't they telling him to shutup? If TeamLiquid is worried about losing it's Razer sponsorship because of Destiny, why isn't TeamLiquid pressuring Destiny to behave better? Ya'll are the ones who CAN actually pressure with just your words. What do we have? Angry forum posts? Emails to teams who have already tolerated this behavior?
I really do have a hard time finding sympathy for other SC2 organizations when they had the ability to at least pressure Destiny but did nothing and then cry because Destiny's behavior is hurting their sponsorships.
And really...we're overreacting? It's 2012 and we still have issues of racism and homophobia in our ranks?! That's mind boggling! Wanting it excised immediately is hardly an overreaction.
