Until your concern for these issues steps outside of "I'm going to make a post on the internet about it and then email the sponsors, let me feel good about myself for stamping out the use of racist slurs on a stream watched by a miniscule portion of the population, many of whom use it themselves and/or have encountered it before and have no issues with hearing it or using it in every day life and who couldn't care less if Destiny loses his team so long as he continues to stream," then ... well, I hope you see where I'm going here. Words are offensive because people use them in a degrading manner. I guess he's talking about how we need to stop considering these words degrading and consider them as any other word. I'm caucasian and I've never experienced anyone using racist remarks at me, I'm a fairly normal straight person, so I don't know how it feels to be on the receiving end of it, but I still think that a step towards equality would be to stop considering these words to be any worse than calling someone a "fucking dickwad" or something like that. Acknowledging racist slurs as just that isn't necessarily helping the society move towards equality. At least that's what I guess he's trying to say. I see some truth to it, words like "gook" and "nigger" are considered bad and mean because we acknowledge the fact that they're being used in a degrading manner towards someone due to the color of their skin. If you start considering it as just another word to describe someone's skin color or nationality and not as a degrading word, that could solve the entire issue. I disagree. By not talking about issues, ignoring them, or pretending they're not issues, you'll never resolve any of them. They'll just continue to sit around, gaining acceptance through inaction, while the voices of those involved in or hurt by these issues will be silenced.
What Destiny, and this poster are arguing is nonsense; it's starting from an assumption that these issues are already cosmetic, that there is no history or meaning behind them, and that those who find racial epithets offensive are wimpy dinosaurs who need to man up and get with the present program. But the truth is that racism still exists, still has actual consequences, and thus so do racial epithets. What Destiny and this poster are concerned with isn't eliminating racism; I guarantee you neither think that it's a big deal or give a fuck about the issues of other people. This argument is a canard designed to create a shelter from which they can continue to live insular, privileged lives on the internet and be free from guilt, shame or responsibility from their actions.

How come orb's career got ruined for 1 thing? Why shouldn't this be applied to Destiny?

Having said that, humans are humans, people are people. We have all known destiny is a douche, but it is that reason he gets so many viewers. He is the Paris hilton/Kardasians of SC2. Why do people watch these figures? Because people like to be entertained. Even I have to admit that on occassions, Destiny's stream is hilarious. I haven't watched it in a while because I feel it degrades the mind, but the crap in the past between him and deezer was pretty funny.
Should Destiny be listed on TL? No. Should Destiny be on a Team? No. Should Destiny stream? Sure. Is calling out Destiny's issues going to change anything now? No.
In fact, this post is probably only making him more popular. At this point, you could take him off TL, kick him from quantic gaming and try and shun him from the SC2 community and he would just get more viewers. If you wanted to do something, should have done it at the start. The cat is out of the bag here people, so suck it up and move along. Why do you feel he shouldn't be on a team or listed on TL?
Really? I have to explain this to you? Seriously, I'm not here to hold your hand and explain to you the intricacies of life. Go ask your mommy and daddy why public figures should maintain their behavior.

This is par for the course for him. Are we genuinely surprised? Thats not to excuse the behavior, but anyone who has watched his stream has to expect that kind of vitrol. I watched it once and have never come back. Too much attitude and too little skill for my taste, but some people enjoy that style, I guess.
Bottom line, he's kinda the SC2 shock jock, some people aren't going to like him, so just tune out the noise.

There is a popular adage -
Stick and stones may break my bones, But words can never hurt me.
The moral being - shit can only bring you down if you let it.
If you WANT it to mean something horrible, then it always will. And that's a fact.
If I called you Hot Dog and you took it as an offensive term for males, you know? You can let this shit get to you, or you can think to yourself "Gee I made him angry, SUCCESS!"

I see a lot of people complaining that the people raising an outcry don't 'really' have the right motivations. They are merely swept up by outrage or love drama, and do not really care enough about what is wrong with racist language.
While this might be true (but really...what evidence do we have for claims about the motivations of these posters?) it does not change the fact that they are at least taking the right ACTION. That is, they may be doing the right thing, with the wrong motivation. This is a step in the direction of being a good person. As Aristotle argues, first we imitate good people and take good actions (maybe because we are forced!), and this will eventually lead to a good character.
Sure, maybe people are just emailing Quantic and/or sponsors out of momentary passion. But I am alright with this. It is a step in the right direction.

Why does everyone feel the need to start a fucking riot every time someone does something wrong.
Causing this kind of drama is not "saving ESPORTS"
I hate the standard all the orb bullshit started.

It seems to me that people are being to sensitive in general. This small incident has gotten 75 pages of drama within a couple of hours. Are we really that thirsty for some juicy drama? Sure, words can hurt your feelings, but when you sit there watching destiny's stream with tears pouring down your chin, remember; there is always an option. it is marked with a big X (right next to a square and a line), and makes all the mean words go away. I hope YOU (mr. sensitive and ms. drama thirsty) are willing to try this button next time, and enjoy the outcome.

Was there no other way to express your emotions at the time ?
Was the word used to entertain your viewers or to insult your opponent ? - if yes, why would you think that word would be entertaining to your viewers, or insulting to your opponent ??
try to answer these questions without sounding like a bigot..
Eh, was the word that came to my mind at the time. Good enough reason for me to use it. And so why do you think that particular word came to your mind in that situation ? Please tell us that there is some thought behind the words you say. Honestly dude you have a good thing going with a great community, how can you be so stubborn ?

Probably because Reddit went after Orb, and Destiny is too popular on that site for anything to happen. It could also be that Orb denied it so much...just my guess though.
