The thing that most people don't seem to understand is that it's not THEIR problem. It's the sponsor's problem. Not theirs. If people didn't care about Destiny's vocabulary before then they're hypocrites to start complaining about it now. If the sponsor has a problem with it, let THEM deal with it. Let Razer/Quantic talk with Destiny. Up till now though, there have been no problems. So why are people so concerned with Destiny vocabulary? I'm shocked and appalled. I don't know who some of you people think you are, meddling with affairs that don't concern you. If Destiny offends you, watch another stream, or turn off your computer and go do something productive. We don't need sleazy white knights who think that they're doing good by whining about something that neither Destiny, his fans, Quantic or Razer have had a problem with. Some of you need to take a good hard look at themselves. Especially considering none of you are activists against racism. None of you are actively doing things to help prevent racism. You're just getting on this disgusting hate-wagon. Appalling. Destiny, if you're still reading this thread, I'm still a big fan of yours. I love your commentary, I love your wits and even in this thread I got a couple of good chuckles. Then again, giving full disclosure, I am a middle-class white male that grew up in a predominately white rural community. I probably lack perspective. I just feel like anyone who has the means to be part of a community involving a video game, also has the means to choose the content that will entertain them without feeling uncomfortable (e.g. watch another stream). | ||

If Destiny is not being paid shit, then fine say all the racial slurs you want. The only detriment is to the viewers. But if some company is paying you for streaming and they know Destiny is shouting racial slurs then this company is actively supporting racism. In fact, they are encouraging this behavior because in the end all they care about is how many people buy their product and if Destiny can be used as a tool for marketing then let it be; why would they care if he uses racism to achieve this goal? Racism has only relatively recently been recognized as a human crime and we still have a lot of work to eradicate it from our societies. Holding people accountable for their racial slurs is a step in the right direction. I won't support companies that support racist behavior. End of story. | ||

Its called entertainment. Not everyone watches streams to learn or just get a better understanding. Some people watch for the fun and general hilarity of it. Skill isn't what its all about and it doesn't have to be all about the game. I'm starting to think that NonY was right when he said we appreciate the drama more than we appreciate the game.
