C'mon, at the least that was unbelievably stupid on Rondo's part.
lol, I saw that. I was wondering if you got that from my rage post about Smoove?

Bulls fan/Ex-Highschool Soccer/Basketball Ref.
Edit. let me elaborate on all of the things that crew/official did wrong or failed to do:
Failed to call a good game. Failed to maintain a proper tone for the game. Inserted themselves into key situations. Intruded on the physical space of players. Got that specific jump ball call wrong. Confronted a player. Failed to ignore Rondo's rant (this and the following are terribly egregious, he could have just turned around and talked to the scorers table). Made exaggerated physical motions when calling Rondo's technical (basically goading Rondo). Turned his back on a person he just made angry (intentionally made him even more angry by the way). Failed to remove himself from an explosive situation.
If the rest of the crew was responsible, they would have ejected him from the game, not Rondo.
No offense, but this is the pros. You conduct yourself like a man and a professional. The NBA has strict policies on interaction between players and refs. Refs are supposed to ignore players if they get in their faces, and if the players persist they get hit with techs. That's just how it works.
That's how its supposed to work. But as I clearly illustrated that is not what happened in this case. Marc Davis (the ref) got in Rondo's face to call the foul, kept staring Rondo down the entire time, then insulted him again after calling the Tech.
Davis was 10x as unprofessional as Rondo.
Uhhh.. I dont know what you were watching but Ive looked at it like 20 times now, and he didnt even look at Rondo till Rondo went in his face. The second Rondo said something he turned around and called the T then he got bumped and ejected him. Nor did he stare down anyone.
Other bad calls aside. I dont see what you clearly illustrated in this case..Also Rondo did trip on his foot a bit, but he didnt exactly do anything to avoid bumping him or even appear to make it look like it was a mistake. He rode the trip and he enjoyed the bump. I can understand him being frustrated but he certainly isnt innocent of what he did.
Edit: Id rather they just fine him , but I think theyll suspend him a game.
If you reffed/umped any sport you would realize there were like 20 points during the game and 3 points during that sequence alone where the crew/Davis could have prevented that ejection. These guys have egos that are way too big. They think they are part of the show, that's why umps jaw with managers then give them the "heave-ho" and that is why this problem started and got exacerbated.
Im not talking about the game. Im talking about the play and so were you in the comment I replied to. I acknowledged the the other issues but those are broader and you claimed to "clearly" illustrate the ref jawing and staring down Rondo on the play. Which is not true.

That comment just reveals your lack of experience as a moderator of a sports competition. A good ref would have prevented that entire situation 10, 20 minutes earlier.

Please stop harping about my lack of experience as a moderator of sports competition. I am not arguing wether the situation couldve been stopped earlier or not.
Your effectively saying.. well the officials were wrong before and have refed it poorly so clearly its their fault Rondo went of his rocker. No its not, Rondo isnt the first player who ever got frustrated in a basketball game with poor officiating.
Im saying that in that particular situation there was no incendiary behavior from the official. Illustrate it as much as you damn well please.
CP3 !! Didnt really care about the game, but Im so glad I kept watching..
