ACL's are horrible injuries for any athlete and take roughly 9 months to recover from. It doesn't matter how good your rehab is etc, you need a lot of time to recover and rehab from it. Rose might make it back by December at best. Whats more worrisome is wether he will regain and maintain the explosiveness. Thats something Rose relies on heavily, you can see how debilitating injuries ruin players *cough* Davis *cough* (ok hes old but still). Davis tore his ACL in college, I thought? And he was still pretty much a baller in Charlotte and New Orleans. But yes, just look at Amare in 2002-2004. He was basically Blake Griffin before he hurt his knee. He still has the moves and he can get up but not with the same raw burst. And Chris Paul didn't even tear his ACL but that knee injury sapped so much of his pure speed, it's sad. Just go put in your old VHS tapes of him at Wake Forest and his first 3 years as a Hornet. Well I just said debilitating injury. that includes all the people you mentioned, I dont know if he tore his ACL or not, I was talking about the back. And he was baller before that.
He 100% tore his ACL in college, which is pretty amazing when you consider how athletic skinny B-Diddy was in the pros. But now he's fat Baron Davis with a bad back =(

wow boston is grinding their way back into the game with defense and free throws

Rondo -____-
He's gonna get a couple of games for that. Tough call on Celtics though.

well they can say the contact is cause by rondo tripping over the ref's foot haha

He did chest bump a ref... I guess they'll come out and say it's "accidental". I guess being Playoffs he might only get one game--it wasn't that bad.
It's still poor form from Rondo though. No matter how tough the call is you shouldn't touch a ref.
|
Just a question of curiosity. Who do you guys think is the best referee in the league?
|
The call was 50/50 IMO. It was a loose ball, but Bass was reaching over the top. I'd have gone jump ball, but there was def enough contact to call a foul.
|
lol Rondo, the tech was iffy but the ejection was just dumb on Rondo's part.
|
I don't think he set out to bump the ref, he is too smart for that, still the game was over the moment that wasn't a jump ball, whatever t's rondo got was useless.
|
Without Ray Allen and with a cold Truth, they had no weapons to work their way back into the game in any meaningful way. The ejection call was iffy, but I'm not arguing.
Go Hawks!
Also, J-Smoove with the first 22 pt and 17+ rebound game for us since Moses Malone! :D

That Ref should never ref a single NBA game again in his life, and the crew should be suspended for the remainder of the playoffs. There is no excuse for what happened. That was cowboy behavior.
Bulls fan/Ex-Highschool Soccer/Basketball Ref.
Edit. let me elaborate on all of the things that crew/official did wrong or failed to do:
Failed to call a good game. Failed to maintain a proper tone for the game. Inserted themselves into key situations. Intruded on the physical space of players. Got that specific jump ball call wrong. Confronted a player. Failed to ignore Rondo's rant (this and the following are terribly egregious, he could have just turned around and talked to the scorers table). Made exaggerated physical motions when calling Rondo's technical (basically goading Rondo). Turned his back on a person he just made angry (intentionally made him even more angry by the way). Failed to remove himself from an explosive situation.
If the rest of the crew was responsible, they would have ejected him from the game, not Rondo.

They need to force Steve Javie back to work. David Jones and Bill Spooner are not bad. Violet Palmer is the worst. Not watching the game, who did Rondo scuffle with?

Damn Memphis.... you scary.
|
Hrm...maybe play that perimeter defense a bit...
|
Damn I was posting in the wrong thread. I made a 'You are not a shooter, Josh Smith' reference.
C'mon, at the least that was unbelievably stupid on Rondo's part.
|
memphis not scary, lac just missing chauncey, and a good big.
okay, maybe a bit scary.

It's the offense, actually. Chris Paul can't buy a bucket. Boo =(
