So recently, with all the hype and popularity surrounding the korean culture and koreans on the blog forums, I've decided to make a blog where TL users who are curious about the korean and american culture can ask questions. Or about any asian culture in general, even though the answers I provide may not be 100% accurate. I also answer questions about everything, from sports, to math, and girl problems. And without further ado, let's get started!~ Hwaiting!~

FAQ:
What is a Korean American?

A Korean American is a korean person living in America. There are different types of Korean Americans. There is a generation 1.0 korean American who lived in Korea and came to America. There is generation 1.5, which is like your parents came from Korea and gave birth to you here, or like you came here from Korea at a young age(I think). Generation 2.0 is your parents who are Korean was born in America, and you were also born in America.

mmmmm, I'm not really annoyed. I only get annoyed/pissed off/rage when they try to hit on our women.

How angry are you when they ask if you are north korean.

Idk, never got asked this. I guess people don't troll me enough, since I'm out of middle school. Most people are educated/old enough to know that this kind of question only exists to get some kind of negative response from the other person, therefore do not ask this.

How angry are you when they say you are chinese I haven't been called Chinese since I was in Middle School. Most people are educated enough, and California is a culturally diverse place that people can tell the difference between Koreans, Chinese, and Japanese. Sadly though, people can't tell the difference between Asians and Pacific Islanders so you get a lot of Pacific Islanders being called Chinese.

what is the most played videogame console? (dont count pc's)

Among Americans, the Xbox360 is the most played console. The Xbox360 is also the favorite console of nerds. Among Koreans, it's probably the wii. Most of the koreans I know don't own consoles because they just came from Korea, or they are all on the PC. Koreans are also cheap, so they do not want to pay $60 for a game, therefore they play PC games, mostly free PC games. Also, mobile games are more popular among Koreans than all of the above(in the US), which is why WCG is going mobile games only.

I am a generation 1.5 Korean American.

No.

Yes, because as a Korean American, my parents have taught me that Koreans are the superior race of the world, as seen by their incessant pride and chatter about the accomplishments of the Koreans, despite them being such a small nation. Therefore, I am led to believe that Koreans are superior, not genetically(I can't say yes to this even though I believe, because it will offend people), but because of their culture. Basically, what I mean by culture is, if you don't get straight A's at school, or be the best player on your tennis team, then you will get your ass beat.

Korean parents are realistic though. If you are an average Korean American, your height will be near 5'8, 5'9, so parents won't ask you to be the next Kobe Bryant because a height disadvantage makes this goal unrealistic. However, with Linsanity, the new generation of Koreans are not safe. They will be asked to excel harder than they were asked to excel before.

My family specifically is considered to be on the lower spectrum of Koreans when talking about wealth. Koreans are richer than they point out to be. My family would be considered to be in the 1% of the U.S. population in terms of wealth, but even this is considered really poor, for the average Korean American. (From my view of the world, since I have only lived in rich suburbs my entire life, and all my korean school mates are richer than I am.) Technically speaking, my family makes like over $120K per year at the least, and don't pay taxes because my dad is a freelancer and therefore puts unemployed on his whatever he does for taxes, and takes 100% of what he makes. My mom works for a Korean company, which means that they do some underhanded dealings where she only makes "minimum wage." They give her most of her wages in cash.

How do your views of Korean cultural superiority make peace with the undeniable fact that a great majority of Korean culture is a derivative of Chinese culture?

How do you feel about relying on your parents to be the font of knowledge and authority concerning the racial hierarchy of the world?
