This year I got a refer in my university. Basically I passed 5 out of my 8 units and they told me I cant proceed to year 2 without passing 1 more unit. Thing is I failed 2 of 3 units because I gave my assignments later BUT i gave extenuating circumstances form but didnt get accepted in some units but in other units it did get accepted. So what I did is I appealed in order to let me proceed to level 2 because I know I can pass them units. Right now I am anxiously waiting for the appeal results. Advice I want from you. The worst thing that could happen is the appeal not be accepted and I ll have to wait almost 1 year to give 2 exams and 1 assignment to pass to level 2. Problem is my parents tell me they dont wanna send me any money if this happens and that I should go back to Greece and forget about university. My thought was if the worst happens to stay in UK and find a job, lol then maybe my parents will see I am a grown up and maybe send me some money. Also if i go to classes for these 3 units its gonna be free and only 3 hours/week. So basically my parents tell me that if I am to spend their money for 1 year only to give 3 units do something in my life and dont be a lazy bum. So what do u think | ||

This is the point in your life where you realize the free ride is over. If you really want to do what you're doing right now, you'll find a way to make it work (in your case getting a job to pay for it yourself). Although, if you're seriously considering moving home if your parents say you should, you should ask yourself how much you really want to be where you are. If you've decided already that this is what you want to be doing, yeah, get a job. Don't let your parents slow you down, you've got to cut the umbilical cord sometime. Sounds like you'll have a lot of free time before you get back into class if the appeal isn't accepted, so take it easy, enjoy yourself. Make sure you've got the money under control though, set yourself a budget or you might find yourself back at home because you simply can't afford what you want to do. | ||
