No man in the wrong can stand up against a fellow that’s in the right and keeps on a-comin.
There's a lesson to be learned about threatening other people here, and hopefully in the future everyone is wiser about escalating things to violence because this is how it can end up. Sadly bullying will never stop, even when people are killed by doing that.

LOL awesome. Guess he won't be a prick to anyone else now will he?
I'm happy he stabbed the F-wit and got off. When someone like this bully keeps getting out of control they will do what ever they want. Now he's dead no one has to worry about him harming others. He brought it on himself.

Schools always say they're "against bullying" and have a "strict no tolerance" policy, but speaking as a person who was physically bullied in middle school and had to settle the matter with violence, they really don't put any effort into stopping it.
At least the courts finally made a good call in the face of a difficult choice. jesus how immature are some of the people on TL? how in any way does a person deserve to die for bullying someone? build a bridge, get over your childhood bullying experiences and grow up rather than trying to justify manslaughter over the internet.

:l.. Its a tricky situation, however carrying a knife is completely justified. I believe that you should keep 1 hidden just cause how useful it can be.
I hate this situation and reading some of these comments just piss me off. no wait, i hate you all.

I think this is clearly self-defense.

I'm not sure about this, I think it's okay for the bullied kid to defend himself but 12 stab wounds or whatever seems like a little bit much to get off scot-free with. I'm pretty sure the bully would have gotten the message with quite a few less than that.

I agree, it's immature to say someone deserves to die for bullying, but jeez --- What the fuck? You call people Immature and then tell them to "get over it"? Some people have had terrible things happen to them in school that can't be forgotten and damaged them emotionally and/or physically.
EDIT: changed 'highschool' to 'school'

I feel the same way too, this entire situation really cuts both ways if you look more into it.

Oh great, another one of those who throw the word "immature" around just because our view of the world doesn't line up with yours.
That piece of shit bully got what he deserved.

-Get told you're gonna get beaten up by a group -Group does it for fun and sadism -Be small and outnumbered -Reason to fear for your life cause the group keeps pushing the limits -When the moment comes, outgun the outnumberers
It would be a bigger deal if he got convicted for murder after this imo. Like a break-out-of-jail card for every idiot who thinks harming others beyond physical dimensions is fun.
Edit: for the case that he used the knife just to scare the attacker, it would probably just have worsened his situation, giving them a reason to hurt him waaay more, if not killing him instead.
From the pov of that scared teenager, once he started stabbing things kept on going instinctively. Non-trained humans aren't cold killing machines counting the amount of stabs they inflict, and a single stab wouldn't have taken that guy down in time, afaik stabs are among the less painless and inhibiting injuries at lower numbers.

This is a good point. He should have cut off the bullies hand at left it at that. His main hand if the kid was feeling particularly upset.

It's kinda messed up, but it seems justified. Kid should get some counseling though.

self defense was for sure justified
however how many times did you have to stab him? i don't see why he had to kill the dude.
i agree to an extent to the decision but there are no winners.
|
It's shit that someone had to die, but in my experience the only real means to stopping bullying is when the "bullyee" seriously hurts the bully.
|
Glad the judge made the correct decision in this case, this was a perfect case of self-defense in the face of great danger, no ways around it.
|
Big shame for both sides, I'm pretty sure killing someone is traumatizing nonetheless. Terrible ending to a story.
