While I understand that there's a need to discuss this matter, this thread has way too many trash posts in it. Please think carefully about what you want to say. Ad hominem attacks on Swedish people in general, calling you fellow Starcraft fans idiots etc etc will be dealt with with harsher punishment from here on out. Keep it civil people.
Page 230: Here's some more stuff that'll get you banned! - Conspiracy theory mongering about MLG and GOM - Comparing people to Hitler - Posting useless one liners of arguments that have already been repeated ad nauseum. |

Naniwa probe rushed, buhu get over it, it was not the end of the world and it is not killing esport. If it was, Idra would have killed it long time ago!! Yeah I hate other cultures too. They all must be the same. They have their own values and when a foreigner comes over to that country, sometimes they have to learn the hard way. If a football team walked onto a pitch in front of thousands of their fans and kicked 5 own goals and didn't come out for the second half, I don't they would take it as well as some people are taking Naniwa's antics. Stop acting childish. Play the game you love. I'm sure he doesn't probe rush when he's lost 10 game on ladder in a row. Then don't make a tournament called the "Global Starcraft League" and base it on Korean culture only. There concept is to have the best people from the world compete in their tournament.

Global StarCraft League not really showing fair treatment to global players...
coca got it pretty bad though. code S spot taken away and i would imagine he can't travel/get invites to foreign tourneys like naniwa can. both are overreaction though, feel bad for these players.

Not sure if it was justifiable but in GOM's defense, the culture there holds these sorts of things in a much higher regard. Saviour incident etc. Seeing how NesTea went into the game to play it and win, even though his record was 0-3 too. It shows that Koreans are going to play no matter what. I think it's a cultural difference honestly. They look down on this more so than foreigners.
I don't really mind the ban. Spend those 2 months practicing. Then tell everyone your the best and win Code S.

You mean you need rules to determine what's right and what's wrong? That's kinda sad, imo. There are plenty of things in this world that are not illegal to do but completely frowned upon when it's done. There is a rule. Something along the lines of , we keep the right to ban players for behavior we deem not fit for gamers.

I'm personally really sick and tired of Korea's racist double standards, why is it that we always have to bend over backwards for them? Just because they had an iron grip over brood war doesn't mean it's the same with sc2.
|
It's just hilarious how sensitive koreans are to BM. In any professional sport you will get BM and shit from your opponents. Crying about Nani only typing a g instead of gg shows that the koreans truly are kids who live in some kind of bubble protected from the harsh world outside.

naniwa needs to cool down and learn some common courtesy in tournaments. First MLG now GSL maybe this will put some sense into him.
|
It was just a question of when a tournament would take action against him. Wondered what would've happened if Naniwa pulled the MLG shit at GSL. Hopefully Naniwa understands that he HAS to manner up.
|
he deserved it. naniwa needs to grow up.
he was an asshole to gsls partner(the MLG) and does it again on their league. so kick him out.

In terms of (non-Korean) viewers, it's hardly the biggest tournament in the world.

Its a joke for a big organisation like gom to ban players at their discretion with no rules being broken

I`m glad that GOM didn't make an exception just because he is a foreigner! Naniwa learn how to be professional - which not only means play the game really good
i agree with this, i guess question is should foreigners receive special treatment like they have been so far or be treated more on par with koreans?

This goes against the fundamental philosophy of law/punishment. What Naniwa exactly did wrong is not clearly defined, he didn't break absolutely any rules, and lesser versions of this have been done in the past without repercussion.
|
So, will GOM be banning everyone that 4gates, 6pools or does scoutless all-ins? I mean, if nani cannon rushed there would have been no problem? So if he pretended to play, all is well? Who are we kidding here. If you force players to play meaningless matches they are not going to give it their all...
I guess inviting Greg out of nowhere is a move to calm down the foreign fans. No disrespect to IdrA, but Nani has earned his spot in the code S. IdrA , as good as he is, got a direct seed to calm the foreign scene. it isn't naniwa that is being unprofessional, he did what his contract dictated and showed up for the game. If GOM then decides he is 'unworthy' for the code S, that's just an ugly move. As I said: if they start doing this, I want to see ALL the cheesers kicked out, that seems only fair.
|
I dont get it. Why did Nani even get in the booth if he wasnt going to play? Did they get a gun on his head and forced him to get in? Imagine how less of a shitstorm this would have been if instead of a probe rush they would have just anounced "nani isnt playing, nestea gets the point".

I respect GSL for sticking to their standards and not making exceptions. Same thing occurred to Coca.

Looking forward to watching the games of whoever replaces him =) Sen replaces him so it's not that bad. BTW, it seems that there actually rules against what Naniwa's did, as posted by TBO and CryingPoo in the other thread: Show nested quote + GomTV can deny your participation if you are found unfit to be a gamer.
- 경기중에 과격한 행동으로 상대 게이머나 관중들에게 위협을 가할 때 - During a match, a player shall not offend the opponent or audience with abusive behaviours
If Naniwa is viewed as disrespectful to his opponent and viewer then it would be fit with the second rule, and again they can deny entry as they want from the first place.
Quoting this so more ppl see this.

This is pathetic. Naniwa didn't even break any rules. Had the probe rush worked, there would be a million threads right now calling him a strategic mastermind. Sure he was disrespectful, but GOM's reaction is even less professional than his.

Teams in almost all sports will play second string if their season is already over which is basically saying you don't care about winning or putting up the best game.

Im kinda new and planned on purchasing a ticket for the first time but nope, never will get money for this shit in my life... This is soo disgusting, seriously. If he says he couldnt have played a good game anyways and couldnt deliver a good show, then what is the point of forcing him to play?
had he just 4 gated, same result...
No, naniwa is a joke if anyone. He knew the schedule AS BILLED, way before hand. Any self-respecting and empathetic (of everyone else involved) player would have played out the game not only to better himself but to gain exposure for himself, his team and his sponsors.
It's called being a professional at what you do.
He shit on the effort put forth to put him in the tournament, to set the tourny up, and to cover the games he played. He has no respect for the effort plenty of other human beings put forth to make the entire thing possible.
Yea, he lost 3 rough games. You're a pro. Stop crying. We expect more.
