While I understand that there's a need to discuss this matter, this thread has way too many trash posts in it. Please think carefully about what you want to say. Ad hominem attacks on Swedish people in general, calling you fellow Starcraft fans idiots etc etc will be dealt with with harsher punishment from here on out. Keep it civil people.

Page 230: Here's some more stuff that'll get you banned!
- Conspiracy theory mongering about MLG and GOM
- Comparing people to Hitler
- Posting useless one liners of arguments that have already been repeated ad nauseum.

LOL people need to learn that GOM is like any other god damn business. It's not your right to participate and they can ban whoever the hell they want. Just like you can't shit on your employer, you can't just on GOM when you're broadcasting whether or not the game you play matters for the rest of the tournament because it was broadcasted.

This is a fair point but it speaks more to their culture and values than it does to what is right and wrong. Quite frankly i think they all need to chill the fuck out. But one white guy across the ocean can't enforce that. So at the end of the day i will vote with my wallet. Supported this company since season 2 (missed season 1) and now i no longer support them. Pretty cut and dry.

This is soo disgusting, seriously. If he says he couldnt have played a good game anyways and couldnt deliver a good show, then what is the point of forcing him to play?

had he just 4 gated, same result...

You've obviously never played organized sports have you? If so, you would understand that despite being in a losing and unwinnable situation, you still try your best. When the Lakers are whooping on the Clippers by 30 points with 2minutes left in the game, the refs don't just call it quits. The coach of the Clippers doesn't forfeit the game. The players still play the game out.

It's called being sportsmanlike, and if you don't act that way you deserve the repurcussions given to you.
Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

Fuck everything about this. I would say OK if the result of the game toss had any impact at all. But it doesn't. If they don't want people to do this, write it in the rules(He didnt actually break any rule that you can find on the website) or don't have stupid matches that don't matter for shit.
Mr Chae is so clueless.

do people get banned for dropping manner mule oder manner nexus? NO
does mc get banned for taunting opponents? NO
did nani really offense his opponent? NO

so why ban him?

I really dislike this decision, but I guess its a lot bigger deal in Korea with their history of eSports. GOM tries to grow SC2 to similiar proportions of BW and stuff like this somehow make SC2 to seem less serious. Maybe someone will organize a community effort to appeal to GOM.

The people who aren't gonna "pay" for their tickets anymore. I would like you to go the whole year without watching GOMtv including team league, finals, up & downs. Why watch them at all ??????? If your going to be so ignorant enough to not respect the game or even the best production quality (Stream quality is still meh for HQ) but production quality with finals that throw $50k into players hands. The fact that they banned him is a good thing. It gives more credibility to game and the tournament for punishing players that disrespect the tournament. You have to think of it as this. GOM being fairly small compared to OGN/MBCgame. You think they want to advertise games that "WE have the best games where players 6 probe rush" nonono they want to advertise great games. If you think that game was remotely great then you have srs problems and have never seen a good starcraft game. Lets not even get started with other countries standards. Asian countries take these "signs of disrespect" very seriously. To us westerners this may be nothing, for them its a huge deal. When you disrespect something you disrespect the whole organization. And again with GOM being smaller than the other game TV networks it gives credibility to them more so that they will punish players who disrespect or bring shame onto the tournament.

In terms of (non-Korean) viewers, it's hardly the biggest tournament in the world.

And taking out a player who beat MVP and Nestea (multiple times) recently, they can't say they have the best players anymore either.

Take away best players and biggest tournament in world for viewers... what are you left with? GSL.

And what statistics are you basing this off of?
i was driving down the road this november eve and spotted a hitchhiker walking down the street. i pulled over and saw that it was only a tree. i uprooted it and put it in my trunk. do trees like marshmallow peeps? cause that's all i have and will have.

It's just hilarious how sensitive koreans are to BM. In any professional sport you will get BM and shit from your opponents. Crying about Nani only typing a g instead of gg shows that the koreans truly are kids who live in some kind of bubble protected from the harsh world outside.

they run the tourney they can do whatever the fuck they want. If we had a football game in america and one team just said fuck it and didn't try and jut gave up it would be a shitstorm. Starcraft is a big fucking deal to them, and we need to respect their culture not change it.

This is so fucking stupid. I cannot believe that I have supported GOMTV with my money until now. I have paid for almost every season so far, and then they go ahead and do this kind of shit? I am never ever watching another GSL event, and I am sure as hell not buying any more tickets.

This is literally just shitting on their viewers. Do they really expect people to pay for their sevices, and get emotionally engaged in their players, when they just ban players on a whim? Not even a warning? Not a fine?

GOMTV, I sincerely regret to ever have bought your services, and I feel utterly betrayed as a customer. I hope you are fucking happy.

I am glad they suspended him. If he doesn't want to take GSL seriously then he shouldn't be there. Naniwa has no honor.

In the end all pro-gamers play to win, if you're not in a position to win or gain anything, whats there to play for?

I like to relate it to basketball. If the other team is up 40 points with one minute left. They just run down the clock. Because there is no point and I'm sure none of the players want to think about trying their best with no hope. Naniwa just didn't have it in him to play a game worth watching. So we got a game not worth watching.

GOM overreacting, whats next? Ban 6pool?

There's a difference with 6-pool and 6-probe a-move.

Right decision to ban him imo, if people don't get punished for throwing temper tantrums they'll just keep doing them.

To watch someone put in so much time toward an arrogant and singular pursuit of winning prize money, I take an almost sadistic pleasure to hear this news.

Mr. Chae and GOMTV are the best. I've bought premium tickets for all my friends, even the ones who don't watch SC2, for the 2012 year as a result. Can't wait!
